This is one of the best spells in the series!

Grams may have been bold buster but one is for sure she protected them babies.

I miss how Phoebe was a great character in seasons 1-3. She was the most interested in magic. Loved to read the book and study it. A lot of times she was the one giving ideas or telling the other 2 what to do, like when she tells Prue about the truth spell or tells Piper to prick Dan cuz warlocks dont bleed. They really ruined her character after season 4

Ironically she was also the one most interested in helping innocents and being a good person (which was part of her redemption arc after having bailed on her sisters). In Season 3, rather than that awful love story that cruelly needed development on Cole’s side (a back story, Phoebe helping him connect more with his human side hence his conflict etc), a really cool story direction would have been the Prue vs Phoebe dynamic. While by the end, Prue pretty much knows the Book by heart, she intentionally walks into danger. While she also genuinely wants to help innocents, her drive to actually ‘win’ against the bad guys tends to get the best of her (as it is rightfully pointed out in the Devil Sins episode) Phoebe could have helped her to remind herself that their first duty was to help and save others and not kill demons. As for Piper, she had so much potential in the first season. She could have grown from this passive protagonist who wants a normal life but ultimately understands that she is capable of much greater good rather than being a sarcastic wife who complains about not having a normal life all the time…

@@ricchan_108 I totally agree with you and I have pointed that out in other videos. By season 3 Prue had become so arrogant and self centered that it wasn’t about the power of 3 anymore but all about Prue being a super witch and thinking of herself as invincible. She also became much more irrational to the point where in the final ep of season 3 she makes the mistake of going after Shax in broad daylight cuz she was sooo desperate to kill him, which is the reason why they get caught. As for Cole and Phoebe’s love arc, I liked it. But boy did they ruin it. I never forgave the show for what they did to Cole. Yes he became the source and did crappy things, but that only happened because he wanted to save the sisters, if he hadn’t, they would’ve been killed by the source for sure. Then in season 5 they just treated him like garbage, especially Phoebe who was a super bitch to him, so the guy ends up losing his mind. What I hated about this is that in season 4 he was going to give up his source power to the wizard and Phoebe stopped it, then at the beginning of season 5 he was going to leave and Paige stopped him, and then they all made it look like it was all his fault and doing; they kept calling him evil and saying how much they hated him to the point of driving him nuts. And let s not forget when Phoebe treated him horribly for killing those guys at the bar and the landlord, and then 1 season later she made demons kill her former classmate just to save Chris, hypocrite much? As for Piper, yes she had so much potential, not only to do cool things with her powers, but also story wise. Yet she becomes this selfish shrew who keeps complaining about magic all the time. What annoys me to the core is that they all gave up their powers and didn’t give a crap about magic school or innocents but then decided to come out of hiding for the most vain reasons ever: Phoebe wanted to be with some dude, Paige felt lost cuz all she had was magic and didn’t have that anymore, and Piper just didn’t feel happy with a fake life. And the moment they start being charmed yet again, Piper starts complaining about magic right away, like seriously? 🙄🙄 I also hated the love story between Piper and Leo being the same crap over and over for the entire 8 seasons, what a waste of opportunity

@@alucinado1021 It seemed they were going a dark path with Prue (kinda like Willow in Buffy with her getting drunk on power) but unfortunately we never saw what it could have been. The infuriating thing about Cole is that he was such a grey character - he was neither good or bad but they never explained his background; even his supposed search for the soul of his father… disappears? The Charmed Ones then paint him as the Evil that Roam the Earth and blamed him for literally everything in their lives - S5 was basically the ‘We worship Phoebe and hate Cole’ show… In the end, Paige was the only likable character even with the show shifting focus into becoming a Desperate Housewitches. The episode when she is tasked to help a woman in her early beginnings as a Whitelighter or the one where she is stuck in an elevator are so good and remind me so much of S1-S2 where magic wasn’t the solution to everything and what mattered was being kind and open to others. Piper marrying Leo literally ruined her whole character. Once she got married, the story had nothing left to tell about her so she became this overly sarcastic person who complains all the time because if she wouldn’t, then she’d be the most boring character in the show…

Ughh this episode is one of my favorites!!!

Something that's always baffled me is how Phoebe's home birth made her more susceptible to the shadow demon. Any thoughts anyone...?

Because the house is standing on a spiritual nexus where the power can be swayed on either good and evil. Thus, made Phoebe susceptible on getting swayed to evil too but also the most flexible power in terms of growth.

@tidus1ph that still doesn't make sense though because unless she has some kind of link which makes her susceptible how come the same thing doesn't happen to Prue and Piper? My theory is that the writers were probably looking for a story where a sister turn and the whole 'Susceptible' thing is used as a Deus ex Machina.

I love Paige don’t get me wrong but Prue def gave the show its ass kicking element always taking charge. The oldest was the first one to walk down those steps. It was said that she always had an “ok how can we make this scene even better n Allysa was fine with it the way it was I jus like the original 3 better

Does anyone think that this was the initial idea for the Nexus? Like the woogyman here is an earlier version of it. Same for this spell that they will use later with Billie and her sister?

I like that prue & piper go to the basement & they try using their powers against the shadow & prue & piper tell phoebe that she is good & prue & piper remind phoebe about grams woogyman story & phoebe had a premonition of grams banishing the shadow & I'm glad that the sisters decided to write the woogyman spell in the book of shadows for future generations in charmed season 1
