Calling all DJs, i have a question: If i want to start DJing, Do I or should i start with beginner equipment (like ddj400) or can i immediately learn from high end equipment? Is it better for me to start with something cheap like ddj 400 or can I use something like this or ddj 1000 to start? And why? Can't i start learning the basics on a high end system?

@@TheFashionfreakj86 I started on DDJ 400 but I reccomend you traktor over rekordbox because its much easier to switch on players (I had issue because traktor is designed like players), but If you have money buy 2 cdj 350 and a 4 channel mixer like DJM 800/850

Rob Clifford Times is really the most important investment to be good at something. If you don't have 3hrs make it one or 3days per week or weekend. There is always time for those who really want it.

What's the differences between the performance pads on the XDJ-XZ compared to the DDJ-1000?

One question. Correct me if I am wrong, but at 0:34 I see that you can assign an FX to a specific channel, like echo or delay in this case. But can you also assign a specific sound or even better a specific hot cue to a given channel. Let me explain: let's say you load a new song into deck Left. With Rekordbox you have already assigned all your hot cues for that song. Now you play one of those hot cues via the pad button, and send that specific sound to channel ONE; in the meanwhile, while sample is still playing, you load another song into deck ONE and play it on channel two. Is that possible? I hope I was clear

Imagine that you have a loop of 4 beats on the channel 2, just select roll on the fx part of the mixer, apply to the channel 2, adjust the beats of the fx to the beats of the loop, turn the level/depth knob, turn it on and once you have it like this, change the channel knob on the fx assign of the mixer to whatever channel you'd like to get the loop still playing, now you can do anything you want with channel 2 and the loop will still be playing as long as you have the level/depth to the right and the fx are on.

Hi, so I got one speaker for my board. Is it possible to use on speaker for both side of the board? I’m not getting any sound. The songs were imported on both side and you can see the rotation of the scratcher but the sound isn’t coming out at all. Any help

I think its an echo into the channel 1, then you extend it to 8 beats (or whatever you want) and then to change it to play on the channel 3 just change the channel asign knob on the fx part of the mixer from 1 to 3 quickly. Not sure 100% if it was echo the effect used for this but for the rest, 100% sure Edit: Roll effect was it! See this for more info about that trick kzread.info/dash/bejne/q3WNuMSufM62dZc.html

Eine Frage noch zB Vocals nutzt du a samples, oder lasst sie einspielen live und dann bearbeiten Pitchen etc. Kennst so wie in vielem Tunes die Stimmen von Frau und Mann, brauch solche Vocals hab soviel fast gertoge Tunes aber des wird mei erser Release Hast vlt Interesse das ma uns via Mail oder so austauschen ...

Hi Crossfader. I saw you jumping on to channel 3/4 in this. I know this means you’ve got the laptop in the mix but I just wondered how ‘involved’ the laptop has to be. In order to load to deck 3/4 do you need the laptop? I have a MacBook and seriously considering this controller but want to avoid that laptop as much as pos

To use decks 3 and 4 you need a computer, sampler, cdj , xdj or turntables. You have to have another source. If you are using it with a computer it's no big deal but you will have to access the computer. Personally I'd add an xdj. Maybe one day pioneer will.hive us xdj's set up like those on the controller with performance pads. I don't know why they are holding back. The current xdj's would be such better laid out like their controllers!

@@MrDrop11 incorrect. You can use the ‘roll’ -effect to play the last 4-8 beats on channel 3/4 as well.

You set a roll on a channel you want to roll and then flick it to the channel you want it on. Works on all pioneer mixers with roll. A little trick i learnt from Kutski. Hardcore isn't my thing but my god you can learn a lot from Kutski.

So is it a 4 decks stand alone or 2 plus option to connect 2 additional players? I remember on the 1st review they said its 4 channel mixer with only 2 decks and you have to attach players to get 4. I see that he is switching between 1/3 and 2/4 decks without any other players, but I read somewhere that you can do that only with the laptop connected and recordbox running?

Like from what I’ve heard, you can switch between 1/3 and 2/4 like on most laptop controllers, but the usb only works for 1/2. You need a laptop to get 3/4 to work. I hope that’s not true.

What would have made this controller a bit better is if it had instant doubles for channel 3 and 4 on standalone mode. Not quite full 4 deck standalone but closer to it.

You can set up hotcues anywhere in a track, even if not on grid. Just turn off quantize on reckordbox or serato and you’re good to go

How do you move to channel 2 to 4 super fast without actually pressing the blue button and prerecording !
