Informative video this. I recently fitted this, plus the parking sensors to my Skoda Yeti and I cannot rave about it enough.

I'd love to see one of these where the phone cradle offers wireless charging. The features the Pioneer app offers look great but practically a smartphone would be more accessible in a cradle on the air vent in most cars.

Not really, depends on the car and how high quality the stand is, air vents are flimsy, my phone has never worked effectively with them, cheap build.

I got this today as a quick radio to throw in a astra h we're running about in, just waiting for the iso adapter plug, i put my s20 in the stand and literally shock the radio about, upside down etc to see how good the grip was as most phone holders are pants, my phone didnt budge, i feel the annoy factor with the cradle having to take the face off to resit is a subconscious security feature you make you remove the face when you're not using it, just wanted a gander if i had to swap power wire like some vag but as thats a vaux aswell i'm pretty safe, cheers buddy

@@lucianoa-qp8jg i got a halfords adapter but i had to run a feed from the 12v on the lighter socket thru a switch to the radio

I’ve fitted two of these now. Took me ages to work out how to get the mount out. I had trouble getting the face plate out too.

I would love to see more for that green wire

For the first one of its kind, I think they did well. Of course there will be design flaws ,but i think pioneer is one of the few who could do this proper

Really wish they woulda put a usb in the back of the radio so you could run extension to somewhere hidden.

I'm trying to connect the nd ps1 and in the radio there's a cable with a tag "reverse gear signal input" do you know where I need to connect that cable? Thank you

You will need to run a ignition switched live power cable from the fuse box,your year car should have two yellow 20amp fuses next to each other,on Corsa models these are ignition switched. Check you owners manual just to make sure your not using the fuse that runs ecu,abs or airbags,failing that a lot of people tap in to the cigarette lighter socket power feed as that goes on/off with your ignition. I prefer the old Pioneer Arc app better. The Smart Sync app looks pretty, but I hate the EQ options, lots of options are missing, making it a pain to use.

Steering control interface shouldn’t be a problem but your supplier will need to know which steering wheel you have (take a photo to them). Reverse cam and sensors are redundant.

Most of the 1 series models need a constant power supply going from the battery to the radio which as you may of guessed means running a power cable the whole length of the car. The cars fuse box goes dead after a certain time and so is no good for the power supply.

can i use this radio without the app? Like just connect it with bluetooth and it plays the audio from my phone ?

You can do but it works much better with the app. Your phone works as a display where you can change music levels eq colours wallpapers backgrounds it even has a Speedo and a above sea level meter in one of the displays. It works very well with Spotify too.

If it was working fine before then your either looking at a faulty radio or the rear speakers wire have become broken or detatched.

Did you cut the black wire to connect the handbrake wire ?

You could have used the red splice connector instead of cutting the black to join the green.

No this leaves a lot of spare cable that could get trapped,always trim the extra cable where possible.

The connector can be opened and reused and therefore refitted where needed and cable trimmed off as necessary. 😃

I have fitted this in my vw beetle but it doesn’t save anything when I turn the car off, how can I fix this?

Switch the red and yellow wires so that red goes to yellow and yellow goes to red. All aftermarket radios need to power inputs, one is constant power to save the memory settings and the other is a switched main power that goes on and off with the cars ignition. Currently your radio has these two power cables the wrong way around.

I'm fitting this right now. I've swapped the red and yellow but lost power. I've got red yellow and blue on a bullet connector. That's where I swapped them

Here in Argentina we have am and fm. Not mw. Will work here?

@@PJsprojects What I am asking is where would the mic most likely be? I bought a used car but with this stereo in it. When I Bluetooth my phone to the stereo everything works accept when someone calls me. I can hear them but they can't hear me. I was curious if I was doing something wrong.

@@fightermma sounds like the last owner didn’t fit the mic. You can buy a 3.5mm jack mic from most car shops and plug that in.

Is this suitable for a 2006 Audi A4? I'm not tech minded but if it's easy enough to install. I won't have to pay halfords 75 quid

It’s suitable yes but consult your retailer for a fitting kit and you will need to know if your model of car is amplified, Boss amplified,rear amplified,fully amplified ect. Audi can be complex in that regard and will most likely need a power taking from the fuse box.

Surely the cable would come pre-joined in a block and you would disconnect it to incorporate your poxy useless electric handbrake. As if someone with an expensive and modern enough car to have a stupid electric handbrake would need to upgrade their expensive factory fitted sat nav to a £100 single din head unit. This is obviously a stereo for upgrading old sound systems on old cars which thankfully have good old fashioned handbrakes. How can I do a J-turn in the car park with my pioneer stereo blaring out to impress the birds with one of those soppy electric killjoys ruining everything. Basically they're for people who can't do hill starts. Or handbrake turns.

Buddy of mine has a some kind of tablet on his. I know its over 10inches. He modified it of course. Ive never looks behind it. But we take his truck off road. And he's a bit of a drinker , and a good bit of an idiot, and its not fallen off yet..😅🤣

@@ManBruno2 I don't have the car no more. I think the problem was, the radio needed wiring directly to the fuse board. I did this myself, It was quite simple really. I had a BMW btw I think this is a BMW thing also.

Just bought this not knowing about the app.. got it going and deteled the app.. Phone still links viva blu tooth , so no need to run the app the whole time..
