Funny you should mention that. Pioneer and Sega actually did collaborate on what was called the LaserActive, which played laserdisc games. It also had add-ons from Sega and NEC which allowed users to play Sega Genesis, Sega CD, TurboGrafx-16 and Turbo Duo/PC Engine CD-ROM games. Unfortunately, all that was quite expensive. So the LaserActive bombed big-time.

FYI @@curleed85 if you wanted to play Sega games on your LaserActive player, you should get an expansion pack starting with PAC-S. For Turbografx-16 games, get one with PAC-N.
Boldly going where no laserdisc has gone before.

This is friggin' amazing!!! I'm a Blu-ray freak, in owning collection and authoring as well, but now looking at this, I must really get one just to keep and admire its vintage beauty!!!

This is a nice and relazing thing to watch before going to bed
That's Right!!! The LaserDisc here in the Philippines was invented by PIONEER in January 1981!
I don't get why people find this scary. I find this really relaxing.

I think it might be because the space background may give some people bad memories of the family home entertainment logo from 1981 As they both have a space background that looks like it was made on an Apple II I do agree this logo isn’t really scary the music makes this logo kind of charming

I don't know why this logo gets a charm. But, I love it.

Better than Netflix
Based on the introductions to the sides, people watching their movie on LaserDisc must have been entertained and simultaneously a tad impatient to get on with their movie.

yeah, unlike all video formats after this, we were able to fast forward through anything and everything. LaserDiscs also had chapters you could skip through, yes, LaserDisc had that before CDs or DVDs.
Seems that when Synthetizer came, people liked to arrange music pieces onto it

Ikr, nearly every single logo at the time utilized it, and some were insanely loud and jumpscare-worthy.
Just nostalgic....I love this.
This looks so good. We have a couple dozen LDs of our own, and we still have a DVL-919 (which unfortunately got zapped in a storm, so it doesn't perform as well anymore), but I am betting this would have looked great on the old VP-1000 my dad used to have!

Dude you have the most powerful of the power PC based Macs ever the G5 Was a top of the line computer back in the day and I have the top of the line Intel core based Macs the MACPOWERBOOK PRO 8400C-15 aka the MacBook pro 15 Inch with mechanical HDD from mid 2012 and it still has not let me down yet even though I had the original hard drive replaced it's a freaking tank just keeps going and going and everything else is standard specifications for example the RAM is 4GB the CPU HAS NOT BEEN OVER CLOCKED IT HAS STAYED AT 2.3 GHZ AND THE GPU HAS NOT BEEN OVER CLOCKED TO FULL POWER EATHER .

For its day, it was powerful, though my specific model wasn't the highest end in the line. Of course, today, it's more or less a boat anchor or, when I do use it, a bit of a space heater as it's working on a job. I still have my Power Mac G5, but it's only used for some very specific tasks that I can't do on my 2012 Mac Pro because of a lack of software, specifically iDVD. Otherwise, pretty much all of my editing these days I do on my 2012 Mac Pro or my 2019 MacBook Pro, since Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere are far more flexible than iMovie, which I didn't have when I edited this particular video together.
I lOVE this intro. In which laserdisc is it?

It probably appeared on many Laserdiscs, but for sure you can find this intro on "The Eve" which was an import from Japan featuring the music of Bingo Miki.
