Hello Crutchfield, when i installed this Head unit i was very satisfied! However, when i plug the Usb in, and try to do any controls, the radio freaks out and restarts? what is causing this? Im stuck, could you please help? Its mostly the back button and sometimes when i try to adjust the EQ settings it will restart.

I have a question. I just purchased one and when I use a USB 3.0 jump drive, my music skips. Its formatted identical to my usb 2.0 drive that plays perfectly. any suggestions?

Ashley Dowd This is covered on page 15-17 of the Pioneer Owner’s manual: Press in on the Master Control Knob to access the Settings Menu. Turn the M.C. knob until “Illumination” appears in the display and press in on the knob to select the option. Turn the M.C. knob until “DIM SETTING” appears in the display and press in on the knob to select the option. After adjusting the DIM SETTING, you can start the process over and select “Brightness” under the Illumination option further adjust the display to your preference. Hope that helps! --Crutchfield

Is there a way to connect to bluetooth without having to go through the settings on my phone? My phone autoconnects if I have bluetooth on when I initially start the car which is great, but if I am driving and listening to the radio for instance and then later want to turn on bluetooth and stream music it wont autoconnect. I have to go through the settings on my iphone and select 720BT from the list.

Leaving the Bluetooth active on your phone at all times is best for auto-connecting with the stereo. If you active the Bluetooth on your phone after the stereo has powered on, you can cycle the power of the stereo, (Hold the source button until the unit shuts off then, press it again to power it on), so that it looks for the phone again. +Bradley Denoon it sounds like your 12volt constant lead (Yellow) is not connected properly. This lead provides constant power to the stereo at all times to retain all of your settings (clock, radio presets, audio adjustments, etc.). If this lead is not connected, the stereo will return to factory default settings every time the vehicle is powered down.Hope that helps!--Crutchfield

+Jade Jn. Baptiste The only differences I can find are the increased USB support in the X720 model which is called USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). This protocol is needed for more modern Android phones and some USB thumbdrives physical memory to be recognized by the radio play music stored on them. Also, the X720BT model has an illumination lead that the X700 model does not have which is used to automatically dim when the vehicle's headlights are turned on. One of the only differences between the newer FH-X720BT and it's predecessor (FH-X700BT) is the Brightness Control. You can manually adjust the brightness (1-10) of the head unit's display to suit your viewing needs. You can also sync the receiver's illumination to the head units' clock or your vehicle's headlights. To dim the receiver's display automatically when the vehicle's headlights are turned on, you'll need to hardwire the orange/white wire of the head unit's harness to your vehicle's parking light circuit. +Karl Brookings These decks are made to be compatible with the I-phones via usb. Your best audio signal would come through the aux in (3.5 on the front, below the usb). Pioneer does have the NEX series of multi media decks that are 100% compatible with "Android Auto." They'll even read the text messages for you! Hope this helps!

No. Bluetooth is a wireless technology so your phone does not need to be physically connected for the Hands-free calling (HFP) and Stereo audio streaming (A2DP) features. One you initially pair your phone to the stereo's Bluetooth, it should pair automatically each time you power the stereo on with your paired phone in range (around 30 feet). It looks like the dimensions for your ML 320 would only allow for a single DIN sized stereo to replace the factory unit so this Pioneer double DIN wouldn't fit. At roughly 20 seconds, the video shows the man using the radio to navigate his songs which are being streamed via Bluetooth. Would this also work for songs being streamed via the Spotify App?

It sounds like you have the Pioneer's Bluetooth in "Private" mode. You can toggle between "Private" and "Normal" Bluetooth modes by pressing the "Band" button while on a call. Hope that helps! --Crutchfield

So I went and bought this headunit for my 2007 Saturn aura xe, and the wiring harness was like $85.00. I got it all wired in, it turns on and pairs with my phone just fine but when I turn my car off it stays on and drains my battery. How do I fix this?

This receiver can work with a Galaxy S5 a couple different ways. The Bluetooth works for phone calling and audio streaming. You can also control the Pandora app via Bluetooth. If you connect using USB, then you can play MP3, WMA, and WAV audio files while controlling which is playing through this receiver. If you purchased it from us, then you can give our technical support a call using their number on the invoice for your order to get them to work together. I have this exact radio. Every time I play a song through my USB port, the song will play but only for about a minute or so and then it will stop and start over. It never plays a full song. Please help!!!!

The CD receiver's front-panel USB (type-A) port allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) or USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) compliant device; and enabling audio playback & control of MP3, WMA, and WAV audio files stored on your portable USB MSC/MTP device through the Pioneer FH-X720BT. The FH-X700BT has been a very popular model. The only common complaint about it was the lack of a brightness or dimmer control. That's correct, the Pioneer FH-X720BT features two pair of 2.0-volt preouts. The unit's Rear/SW preouts can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs. Your best bet will be to stream audio to the stereo via Bluetooth. While the USB port does support playback of compatible music files stored on the internal memory of the phone (MSC Playback for older Androids [w/ OS 2.2+ {Froyo/Gingerbread}] & MTP Playback for newer Androids [w/ OS 4.0+ {Ice Cream Sandwich/Jelly Bean/KitKat}]), you can also enjoy them via Bluetooth in addition to streaming audio applications (Pandora). If you still prefer to use the USB option, be sure you're using compatible file types and bitrates: MP3: bit rate of 8-320 kbps w/ sampling rate of 8-48 kHz WMA: bit rate of 48-320 kbps w/ sampling rate of 32, 44.1, 48 kHz WAV: bit rate of 8/16-bit w/ sampling rate of 16-48kHz or 22.05-44.1kHz (not compatible w/ MTP) Hope that helps! --Crutchfield
