You said I cannot use my Bluetooth source once I activate the wireless *AA* & *ACP* but have you tried tapping the 2 phone with Bluetooth symbol in the bottom right to connect to a different phone? I'm just curious because I have the *2300NEX* and when I plug *AA* via USB the Bluetooth source is disabled as well but I tap the phone switching symbol and connect to my Friend's phone and listen to his music while Google Maps on *AA* is still working. However it did not work with *ACP* . Also I noticed on *ACP* I cannot adjust any of the sound setting unless I switch to a different source.

Since the mirroring works over WiFi how can I still use my phone as a hotspot? Are there any WiFi hotspot capabilities in this radio?

Just ordered this unit and was wondering how fast the miracast method is compared to the hdmi usb c connection. Is there any lag or audio sync issues when watching videos via miracast?

I just got the AVH-4500NEX and Android Auto connects to my Pixel 2 XL like a charm. But I cannot MirrorLink or "cast" at all. Any ideas on how to do that wirelessly?

Need to remove an old CarPlay device from NEX W4400. I do the reset all but it still shows up in the list. I’ve done the front panel paper clip reset, and that does even less ie doesn’t let you choose network or standard

I can't find anything in the manual about frame rate, but plugging into the HDMI would create a mirror so it will play video from any kind of video source with an HDMI out

Of course! The first major difference between the two stereos is price. We sell the Sony for $429.99 and the Pioneer is $699.99. The Pioneer definitely has more features and expandability options, most notably wireless carplay and android auto, wireless screen mirroring, and iDataLink Maestro compatibility. That being said, I personally prefer the Sony from a purely aesthetic point of view, as well as the operating software, it looks more modern/app-like and is easier to navigate.

I’m deciding between this or the kenwood ddx9905s. I use apple which would one would you go with?

You can view KZread while mirroring the phone to the stereo. And yes either use the USB for Apple Carplay/Android Auto for Google Maps or mirror to it

For some reason I can't control the volume on my avh-w4400nex when it's on Android auto. The odd thing is it worked fine before

Is there any loss of audio quality (volume output, specifically) when using carplay wirelessly vs a wired connection? My current 2015 Toyota Highlander stock head unit has very lacking audio quality when connected to bluetooth vs usb. Hope that wouldn't be an issue if I upgrade to this head unit in the near future.

Absolutely. Signal of music transfered via Bluetooth loses almost the 50% of quality. Bluetooth removes high quality while transferring in order to transfer from one divice to another in high speed. If you want to have full quality of music always you are going to have to keep your phone hard wired to the stereo.

@@Wall.Street.AV. wireless carplay is using a wifi network, not bluetooth to transmit data, including audio. The degradation in audio quality should be close to zero.

Why is there a lag in sound when watching KZread via bluetooth, How can this be fixed . Using hdmi cable?

Is there a reason the HDMI option would not be selectable on the radio? I ran the hdmi to the iPhone splitter and the hdmi option is grayed out. Have tried multiple hdmi cords. What is the procedure to be selectable?

Please answer this question, if your use the rear feature and send content to the rear monitors lets say DVD/CD. I saw that you mention that you can do this and also use car play. Are you able to use car play let’s say for Waze and still hear the audio of the content that was sent to the rear monitors.

Correct. So this stereo has dual zone control, which means you can send one source to the rear, and the front seat can still have its own uninterrupted source like Apple Carplay

Has anyone had success in bypassing the parking brake ? I have mine bypassed with the micro bypass, it works while you are not moving and under 5-10 mph. After that speed the black screen comes on warning you about moving video. I do not have VSS hooked up to this unit

I had the same issue. I had to remove the vss AND the gps antenna. It still worked perfectly fine without them hooked up. It seems like if the unit sees you moving in any way using its internal instruments it disables the video but if you are using apple maps or google maps it doesnt effect it in any way.

It's always been very glitchy whenever I've tried on Pioneer NEX's. It worked fine on the 1300, 2300, 1300 and 1400 models, but I couldn't get it to work on this one

Which mirror cast to use ?

I seen a video where you can mirror a samsung phone wirelessly and control it from the head unit instead of phone. Not android auto but mirroring like you showed in this video. I called the the shop who posted the video and asked them about it and was told yes, you can wirelessly mirror phone to stereo and it can be controlled from the head unit not like before when it can only be controlled by the phone. I asked around at different car audio shops but they told me its only possible to mirror through hdmi or av input. I know thats not true as you just demonstrated. Can it be controlled by the pioneer avh w4400nex?

The mirroring on the W4400nex is a screen mirror and not a full mirror link giving you control at the stereo :(

Not true. Just installed and tested. I was able to mirror my phone wirelessly and control my phone from my Pioneer AVH W4400nex screen.

Now they need to make it where you can use the functionality of the phone by only touching the screen when mirroring the device as if you had the phone in your hand. If they could do that wirelessly where I can just keep my phone in my pocket, then I'd definitely buy this unit.

@@1shawnv1 you can i am using a galaxy s7 and miracast i can use the head unit to control the phone as if it was the phone. it surfs the web and pulls up the home forward apps tab by touching the bottom of the screen. when needing to type into a google surf bar it automatically pulls up a keypad

@@dchtlh I've never tried this personally, but it sounds like some sort of coding where Pioneer won't let you transfer the mirror to another display

I just installed my pioneer avh w4400nex and I can mirror my samsung phone wirelessly and control my phone from the pioneer avh w4400nex. I don't need to control from my phone. It is indeed a full mirror link. Can be controlled from phone and stereo.

I believe it means there are 2 option to control the screen when you mirror you screen by wireless connection , Phone & car. This is normally impossible while you are using cable to mirror the screen
