Pinoy Joyride - TPLEX - SCTEX (Tomana to Clark) Joyride 2014

Here is the Tomana to Clark Version of TPLEX up to SCTEX joyride. We have included highway signs for this video as an experiment and collaborative work with ldbpogi. The Tomana Entrance Ramp is only temporary as road works are still commencing as of this documentation, the Carmen Toll Plaza is also temporary, once the next segment is open to motorist, the fate of these temporary facilities will be removed.
dmitrivalencia channel would like to thank ldbpogi for sharing his highway signs to our video.
Collaborative work with ldbpogi for this video. An experimental type , tell us what you think of the signs :-)
Note: The signs are not official signs of the respective highways.. Signs were fan made and property of youtube user ldbpogi

News: After TPLEx closes the Urdaneta section on Jan 20 2015, it will do finishing touches to reopen by mid Feb, but this time with toll charges. I recommend Pinoy joyrides to friends here and abroad who haven't done road journeys around here in a long time. Your videos also track traffic at rush hour which is admirable. I will also promote your site on my Autoindustriya column INSIDE MAN and my Wednesday motoring column NOT SO FAST in Business World. For sure, there will be imitators in the future but you are a pioneer and your site will encourage others to do such a public service. And maybe spot the random speed traps.... Thank you!

Sir thank you for the kind words, I am a reader of Autoindustriya too and been buying C-magazine and your competitor Topgear hahahaha :-) But I would like to also apologize for the driving habits in the videos. I have to admit "we" are traffic violators too :) and maybe we are also a subject of criticism for our aggressive driving and lastly i am an advocate of increasing the speed limit to a reasonable level at least a 120kph would be better than a 100kph hehehe! More power sir! Merry Christmas!

love the signs, they seem to be a good hybrid between EU and Swiss Federal Highway standards.

Hernando F. HERMOSO It is actually a hybrid of American and Chinese Highway Standards. But more on Chinese Expressway Standards. :) Thank you sir for loving my work! :) That work in the video is still on experimental stage.

Hope you can do a joyride from Portland to Vancouver that Pacific route has the most magnificient view in the whole of NA. Nothing beats the Philippine views plus have you tried the Iloilo-Antique-Aklan road.

I used to be with C Magazine from 2002 to 2008. As for the 120 speed limit, Jun Abella of Baguio has a change.org petition asking for raising the speed limit to 120 on SCTEx TPLEx and also for LTO to assign pilot agencies at the expressways so re claiming licenses confiscated need not be in LTO HQ in QC. They used to do that at Skyway during the ERAP era at the PNCC office in Silangan exit SLEx. Hope change.org contacts you.

Hernando I agree with ang petition sa have sped limit raid sa 120 KPH sa TPLEX, SCTEX, NLEX. 120 KPH sa much more realistic than ang current 100 KPH which sa too slow for ang superhighways. Superhighway were built for fast driving. Ang Worst drivers are from Mexico, they drive slow nasa Estados Unidos on purpose, Kailan back nasa Mexico, they drive wreckless, driving like they are nasa an auto race.

Hernando F. HERMOSO you what? You just can't raise up the speed limit to your own opinion... Well, I know.it's quite slow, but tbh, 100kph is an efficient yet safe speed to cruise on the highway... Why? You can run your engine at 4000-4500 rpm of 5th transmission, which is an optimum power output of the engine. 120 is quite excessive in my opinion, hehe... To reach it you must do a 5000-5500 rpm engine running on 5th transmission, quite fuel-hunger , raising up your petrol cost, yet not so safe. Besides, in case of emergencies (such as earthquakes), you need longer time to stop your car when cruising @120 than @100

Christopher O'Rourke for NLEX, especially in the area of Metro Manila, it's not good... To reach that, an interchange must be built for min. 500 m from the intersection of the other served highway, and min. 3,5 km from the last interchange and the next interchange. Prior to that, from Bocaue to Balintawak, it's not feasible to raise that speed And for SLEX, I suggest reducing the speed limit to 90 kph due to the closed-spacily interchanges, mainly parclos. They have low capacity low traffic

pepermayde sorry did not elaborate the RoRo. Roro means Roll On Roll Off - inter-island system of transportation that involves the driving of a motorized land vehicle in and out of an inter-island ferry or cargo ship (Wikipedia). Since Phlippines has many islands, Roro is used to connect vehicles from Luzon To Visayasto Mindanao.
