Pinoy Joyride - STAR Tollway SLEX SKYWAY (Complete NB) Joyride 2016
My 2016 version of Star Tollway - South Luzon Expressway and Metro Manila Skyway Northbound Joyride from Batangas up to Buendia Makati via the three toll road system. By the end of the video you can see the on going construction of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 section 1 segment. Pretty soon, Skyway will continue to traverse until Plaza Dilao Manila area! We also did acknowledge NAIA Expressway as it is stated to be operational this year.
Notable changes in the video comparing to the previous:
- New electronic signs installed along Star Tollway.
- New gasoline station and Balete Exit open along Star
- New road widening on certain areas along Star Tollway
- MCX operational along Susana Heights Junction in SLEX
- Pass thru signs and pass thru lanes along Calamba Toll barrier
- Rumble strips installed on some portions of SLEX and additional on Skyway
- New road markings painted along the Skyway carriageway
- Additional electronic billboards
- Epass is no longer accepted in South Luzon Expressway and Manila Skyway as electronic toll collection (ETC) is now shifted to RFID /sweep card
- Looks like there is works expansion along San Pedro / Alaska Plant area.
- Finally a new Max Restaurant in Total Gas Station
Yield to fast cars, check side mirror before switching lanes, use signal lights when changing lane and no swerving on solid yellow lines.
Tires need replacement sorry for the suspension my honest mistake due to budget hehehe... please make sure you got perfectly running tires on long drives. Video speed was adjusted as i usually do on almost all joyride videos.

That was a very lengthy joyride, a very different look at the SLEX going northbound. What struck me most is I've seen a lot of DLTB buses in the clip, no different from seeing Victory Liner buses in your previous NLEX joyrides. The traffic got rather thick as you inched your way toward the metropolis. Even the Makati City skyline came into view as you approached your destination. Overall, it's rather a great way to show the world on how tough it is to make your way through Metro Manila's traffic nightmare. Another thing, the last song in your piece has some Skype calling sounds-something that I'm often familiar with when I call my contacts or receive calls from them.

+Brian Hudson i have to give credit to @Iceferno / Alec Brooke for his magnificent rendition of skype for the last piece. One of my personal favorites too :-) I was lucky there was no traffic build up only light to moderate along the viaduct. Usually traffic starts near Filinvest Exit towards Nichols.

Now I saw a sign of a groundbreaking ceremony of a Northbound San Pedro Exit in SLEX. I don't know whether if or where will they will begin construction of a new exit or entry ramp maybe under the bridge?

ayusin ang daan sa alabang viaduct nb at one lane muna gamitin sa alabang viaduct nb at padaanin ang maraming truck sa alabang viaduct nb at ipatupad ang two lane truck policy sa alabang viaduct nb monday to saturday 7 am - 7 pm and sunday 7 am - 6:30 pm

The problem with STAR tollway(and most of Philippine Expressways) compared to similar ones in other countries I have seen is the absence of STREET LIGHTS. I dread driving at such roads at night....

Looks like the SLEX got a fresh coating of asphalt since the last NB video too, if I am correct. The road looked newer on the drive. Those rumble strips had to be a pain in the rear, while riding on the tollways. I know, it would have been annoying to me, while driving, hehehe. :D

+Hershel Craft yes some portions of SLEX got asphalt upgrade. I agree the rumble strips are annoying as i always worry about my car suspensions but it was placed there to warn not to speed up too fast. Thank you for watching sir :-)

I say, good idea for speeders, the rumble strips, but annoying for us safe drivers. Look at the bright side. Rumble strips keep drivers from falling asleep on the highway, hahaha. :D Can't wait until the Skyway is finish. I want to ride the Star/SLEX/Skyway/NLEX all in one trip. From Batangas to Dagupan. That is on my bucket list, when I come over there for a visit in the future. And I will get my first trip on the TPLEX and SCTEX when going to Subic too. Looking forward to this journey so much. :)
