So often I don't think that the dubbed voices are worse than the original, but there is something about making Pinocimon/Puttepmon sound like a child that makes it so much better. It makes it feel more like they are really a child who has never learned to be caring than some weird video game villain

8:00 Jerrymon feels like the only one who was something approaching a friend. In that he didn't just cozy up to Pinochimon for protection but genuinely wanted to see him succeed. He was honest with him and told him what he needed to hear instead of just stroking his ego.

Hes an underrated digimon. He deserved more screen time and character development

Great analysis mate. Puppetmon was my favourite villain from Adventure. He was the most fleshed out villain on the show. He was cruel, sadistic and selfish but deep down He wanted friends but didn't know how to properly connect with others and even in death he still didn't understand what he was missing. The fact that he called out for Cherrymon with his dying breath tell me that out of all his minions, he was somewhat close to him and perhaps regarded him as a father figure.

I personally always viewed Puppetmon asking Cherrymon what it is that the chosen children had that he lacked with his dying breath was more than anything him remembering Cherrymon's words and lamenting the fact that he never figured out his own faults. He probably realized that Cherrymon is a wise Digimon, but I don't get the feeling that Puppetmon really respected him, otherwise he probably wouldn't have been so quick to kill Cherrymon after his warning, and also Puppetmon may very well have heeded his words and took them to heart a bit more

I genuinely felt sorry for him when I watched the digimon adventure first time

I think he was the most human of the evil Digimon they fought. None of the other digimon ever look the time to reflect on pain they felt. Puppetmon is definitely one of my favorite digimon.

It's funny how this digimon is burned into my mind like no other digimon

I really liked his story and I have though he was really powerful with his wires chocking attack, he managed to control War Greymon, a vaccine fire Digimon, where is in total disadvantage. I felt he had the best story in Digimon Adventure out of all the enemies. He was sadistic, sociopath, evil, and dangerous, but after all it manages to make you feel sorry for him since he was an empty vessel... I always felt he was the most dangerous and powerful after Piedmon from the dark Masters.

@Kalu Laitala im curious to see where it's stated that MetalEtamon was a weak mega digimon. The strength of Puppetmon came into the fact that he was the only dark master that was able to effectively divide the digidestined. The digimon series was not really one to adhere strictly to this type vs that type(type advantages). The only time that really came into play was when it was data vs virus types, and even that had it's limits. Puppetmon lost because he did not keep a calm head and plan. He allowed his childish nature to ruin everything that was already laid out for him

To give credit.wargreymon was pretty new at his transformation. Every stage has to work up some power like nowadays where the old group can take on Digimon at higher ranks at lower levels but still need there higher forms for dangerous challenges.

He was very weak minded for sure! Riddled with inferiorities and insecurities hence why he targeted TK to make himself BIG with the youngest not realizing how grown and mentally tough TK actually was. Reminds me of Impmon on Tamers who bullies the little catalyst Digimon and then proceeds to brag about giving him advice lol 😂 He’s just a lonely loser is all

@@WelshGiraffa In terms of overall power level, Puppetmon is the weakest of the dark masters, which makes sense compared to the other 3. But he was also the most manipulative as well, which he used to divide them in an effort to weaken them as a group, and for a little while, it worked

He was always my favorite of the four Dark Masters, and one of my favorite Digimon overall. Even though he was a dangerous sociopath, I still felt genuinely bad for him and his sad fate. Thankfully Digimon can reincarnate in Adventure, so I hope he got to have real friends in his next life.

Honestly learnt so much from this and I love how in-depth they are about the evolution line too. My favourite Dark Master >3

Pinokimon sounds kind of like Kinoko which means mushroom. Ki also means tree, I think they had some fun with this.

I too knew him as Puppetmon. I cried a little when he finally made friends. I never believed him to be truly evil, just a kid wanting to fit in who fell in with a bad group (Dark masters).

8:08, 8:18. A true relationship and friends are the best things in life. He was the best character for me.

Even if the edited out the gun or him shooting his own henchmen or him threatening to shoot TK first in the elbows then the kneecaps, he was so threatening and the voice actor in English did superb!!! He sounded evil yet childish snd filled with resentment. He knew he didn’t have what it takes to be cool enough to hang with the gang so he tried to impress TK. Man!!!! That’s so psychotic!!!! I felt bad for him when he went home and TK had wrecked his room snd broken his TV. But he’s just too damn evil. Felt even bad for him when Matt fried him to death. The guy was so impulsive blinded with jealousy envy and rage he wasn’t very calculating! He played too many stupid games. Puppetmon reminded me of this kid we used to hang out with. He was always bragging like Impmon but then he would get his butt kicked publicly for talking too much. In doing so he was always getting humiliated and he was too prideful to admit it making himself look worse. He joined a gang and then tried to impress us, when we weren’t impressed he called us stupid little kids. He was shot a few years later and killed but he had done some heavy damage and people steered clear from him because he was always trying to prove himself and willing to stab or fight anyone just to show off. RIP Puppetmon aka that kid also that kid had a mushroom style haircut which made him look just like Puppetmon and a weird nose haha

Didn't know Puppetmon appeared in Xros wars. If only that Digimon season didn't suck I would have enjoyed seeing Lilithmon and Puppetmon.

Mushmon are just handing out shrooms. Woodmon is on a mission he can never win. Jyureimon is a creepy uncle. And Pinochimon has severe mental health issues and has a gun.

It was censored in the dub. You can find that and many more examples on a video I did recently about censorship in Digimon.

Puppetmon is the best written villain in the original Adventure series. I like how he didn't find out what he was missing in the original. Wish Piemon got as much development or Machinedramon. Someone who used to be on youtube made pretty good criticism about the entire Digimon Series until Hunters were he addresses that. Adventure's strenght lies in the relationship and depth of its protagonists minus Puppetmon for some reason. Adventure 02's strength lies in its antagonist having just Cody and if you want to count Ken as explored and well written characters. But Tamers obvious does everything right. Well, except Ryo. The worst thing about Tamers.

He was my fav character when I first watched digimon. I dunno I liked his design and probably the psycho kid vibe.

Actually Pinocchio's name cames from the kind of wood he was made, pine and "occhio" mean eye but in this case it is referred to "wood eye" which means "whorl in the wood" in my language.

In the English dub his name was puppetmon And I’ll be honest with you when he died at the end I didn’t I didn’t feel like he deserved it but I did feel pretty bad for him because he didn’t know what a true friend was and that’s why he died

To me puppetmon makes more sense because it's more generic. Mushroom, Wood and Cherrymon are all pretty generic names so one of them suddenly growing a fictional character's name wouldn't make sense in english.

Pinocchio does NOT have a happy ending in its original. The author hated children and kept trying to ensure Pinocchio was killed off to teach kids a lesson of “this is what happens when you disrespect your elders” eventually he was forced to make an ok ending but not a happy one. Disney and others were the ones who added happiness and joy to the films and other books.

Imagine a Pleasure Island like place the Digi Destined go to and end up making jackasses of themselves

The original Digimon Adventure was an emotional roller coaster. The reboot was underwhelming to say the least. Not hating just not really a fan.
