“No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun!” Wow, just wow, classic Floyd!
My friend, the emotional impact comes when you feel that blend between the genuine poetry and the way these spectacular musicians made the instruments speak to you on a truly visceral level. Modern music simply doesn’t connect the same way. David Gilmour never learned to read music. Everything you hear him pouring out of that guitar is simply him knowing instinctively where to put his fingers to create the sound path he is hearing in his head. Pink Floyd is literally the greatest music of all time. More because it’s an experience, not just music. Know what I mean?? You simply can’t escape the message in either the lyrics or the instruments. When Gilmour starts to talk to you through his guitar, it is an inescapable communication and even though there are no words, your body feels exactly what is being said. It’s amazing. Nothing has ever come along since to equal the emotional experience created by Pink Floyd. Nothing.

With the exception of “Hey You”, they are post Roger Waters and not nearly as well written
Best way to listen to Pink Floyd is with headphones, alone and the full album from start to finish. They tell a complex story each time.
It's music that no human alive can fully grasp with 1 listen. Like all the greats Beethoven, Mozart, etc..Pink Floyd will be enjoyed and studied for generations. It's our modern times best stuff. It encompasses delicate composition. Full musical virtuosity. Lyrics and storytelling that keep the listener fully engaged emotionally and sometimes physically with hypnotic rhythms. It's music for the mind and body. The listener is educated to a higher level of musical understanding and appreciation of all music after listening to music from the Pink Floyd library.
I love your enthusiasm. I'm 50 and been listening to them since grade school. No one can create mood and emotion like Floyd. Seen them 3 times. Lot's of great memories listening to them.
I wrote it before... Floyd transcends music, it's like hearing feelings and emotions of your young self that you had forgotten about, blessing and a curse. Take care everyone reading this.
Grab your headphones, a drink, turn off the lights, and listen to The Dark Side Of The Moon. And then come back and tell us how long you sat there in silence after the last note rang out.
No other songs needs to be written, this song encapsulates everything we ever need to know.

You owe it to yourself to listen to this on a large surround sound system, feel what you hear sir.
Man, I really enjoyed your reaction to this masterpiece! Made me smile knowing you've stumbled upon greatness.
He's digging the music...wait till he starts digging into the lyrics. He's hooked now. Thanks PF for the creative genius and thanks Mont for the reaction, it takes me back to the beginning.
It's been great watching along with you. Just my opinion, but. I think you should do "Echoes" ( live pompeii 1972), then The Dark Side Of The Moon" ;(album). it's only 20 minutes per side (5 songs), so you could probably do it in 2 videos. This album was intended to be listened to from beginning to end, each song blends together as another chapter in the story (I think I will get many thumbs up for this suggestion. LOL. Just saying that we all know you love Floyd, so how do we help you get the best experience becomes the question.

NO!!! IF YOU ARE GOING TO EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING ECHOES...THEN YOU HAVE TO DO THE AUDIO VERSION WITH ALL THE EXTRA AUDIO STUFF BUILT INTO THAT SONG/RECORDING!!!

Live at Pompeii version for Echos
Listen with lyrics for a whole new appreciation.
Pink Floyd is musical talent on another level. There are others but there is still only 1 Pink Floyd.
The first time - you just “heard” the song. Maybe another time or two you can “listen” to this song. Sooner or later you “understand” this song. Then, several more times and you will “experience” this song. It gets deeper and better as you add Living to your life.
If you do "High Hopes" from the live PULSE gig (as others suggest), do the recent remix/re-edited version from 2019 as it has more of Gilmour on the Jedson lap steel guitar at the end (the original didn't focus enough on him). This is it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/onh_stxve6eeltY.html
This song like many of Floyd’s song flow into the next song seamlessly- the next song is The Great Gig in the Sky- you will never hear or have heard another song that that one- then you might as well keep it going with Money and then Us and them- or hell just push play from the beginning song and listen to the whole album straight through- it will change you life
It's hard not to like Pink Floyd. I love them too
Seems like you dig this band a little 😁. You won't ever have a chance to see this band live but when everything returns to normal (God willing) you need to look out for when Brit Floyd performs in your area. They are a British Pink Floyd tribute band and they are absolutely amazing. I've seen Pink Floyd perform live twice and I can say with all confidence that Brit Floyd is as close as you're ever going to come to that experience. I see them every year when they come to SF. It's like reliving my youth!
