Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii is a 1972 concert documentary film directed by Adrian Maben and featuring the English rock group Pink Floyd performing at the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy. Although the band perform a typical live set from the era, there is no audience beyond the basic film crew.

I bet they enjoyed the acoustics this stadium provided because I'm sitting here listening to the recording and the acoustics are great. Every venue is different.

When doing Echoes there are two mandatory live performances to watch. It's this one, and David Gilmour - Live in Gdansk... the ending on that one is the most beautiful and sad thing you'll ever hear knowing Richard Wright passed away not long after.

Venice,pompei, those guys had class and they were true artists...dark side of the moon brings me good memories: like me on a cold sunday playng super nintendo all afternoon while my father was in the living room playng this album, then we would eat dinner together watching a football match...simple but good memories

The interplay between David Gilmour and Nick Mason is to me one of the trademarks of Pink Floyd and the ad-lib's by Nick is epic. In my opinion, his contribution to _The Pink Floyd Sound_ can't be overrated. As an example, listen to the second guitar solo on _Comfortably Numb_ from the reunion concert in Hyde Park (2005) and try to imagine it without the drum fills kzread.info/dash/bejne/hquWmJeIppmdiqQ.html

I suppose you talk about the descending chromatic scale of 5 notes, something I'm sure can be found inf many musical compositions.
