Well that's not really true... PF is my fav band far over everything... BUT... Their lives recording are not vanilla... They're enhanced, it's a remaster of SEVERAL shows, fixing the bad notes... If you hear the original audio of one live it's not like this. I agree, the result is fantastic, but this exact version was never done live at once... It's been fixed, it's official as it's David's will, it was even promoted like this "numerically enhanced live" at the time. So I'm mixed... I love to watch this "performance", knowing that it's been edited a lot... I've seen them in 1994, it was not so "clean"... You can have a grasp of the actual live sound here: kzread.info/dron/Ix0bH2SseEzsOZaXul-ubA.htmlvideos?disable_polymer=1 I've seen the Bordeaux concert, I'm happy to have the audience recording but listen to them, nothing compared to this artificially perfect version of pulse.

@@garryiglesias4074 Not being an aficionado of the 'Pulse' tours, video and sound editing et al, my comment was focused at this particular video which was being reacted to. Of all the 'Comfortably Numb' versions I have had the pleasure to see, (both studio and recorded, edited live versions) subjectively stands out to be "in my mind" the best of the lot. The link you provided showing other 'Pulse' tours is quite an array videos. At some point in the future when time permits, I will peruse them and compare them to the Earl Court performance.

@Dukeof Cyber - Yup, don't get me wrong, I appreciate the result. But it's not "pure" live one shot. And people tend to believe it. But I also like the movie version of comfortably numb, with all the screaming (and of course the disturbing visuals). My favorite solo is still Time's one, then Money, then Comfortably Numb... Even if the "enhanced" comfortably numb have no equals for the goosebumps it generates :).

Thank you young man! I’m 70 years old old and I listen to PF everyday. 30 years from now you’ll still be listening to this song and it will be like hearing it for the first time every time.

I agree with "Megadeth mastermind Dave Mustaine [who] shared praises of Pink Floyd guitar master David Gilmour, calling him vastly superior to a solid portion of today's "shredders." Dave told Premiere Guitar during a recent interview: "When you live, breathe, and feel the song that you're writing, the song pretty much tells you what it needs. "I'm not a believer that a solo has to be shredding with a wang bar, though I think a lot of people do some really great work with that. "I'm of the belief that a player like David Gilmour could do more with one note than some of today's shredders can do with a dozen."

My favorite thing on You Tube: watching Pink Floyd, especially David Gilmour's guitar solos, snatch people's soul and taking them to heaven! 👼🎸🎸🎸 I feel David Gilmour in my heart. The G.O.A.T. and the greatest guitar solo hands down. I love Jimi, Jimmy, Carlos and Eric but I FEEL David in my SOUL!

I saw the Divison Bell Tour, as well, in '94...It was in Denver, CO at the old Mile High Stadium...80,000 plus in attendance...stunning light show and amazing auditory performance...and it's, by far, the absolute best concert I've ever seen!!!...👍👌✌🤙🕺😀

It is prbably the best live performance ever, and ive seen pretty much everyone ive ever wanted to, but you will always come back to this as the benchmark. This i promise you friend.......

I worked the Pink Floyd Shows at Yankee and Giants Stadium, the Summer of '94, before building the Woodstock 94 Festival in Saugerties NY. It was one Hell of a Rock and Roll Summer...

One thing I love about your reviews and which is so important, is that you don't interrupt the song. You allow it to play all the way through without stopping it. I really get irritated when I watch other reviewers stop the song all together to comment. It really takes away from the song.

That entire performance of this song is what I would call: a transcendent experience! Certain songs. Certain pieces of music. They're so good that they take you places while you listen. THIS is one of those experiences. I've been a musician since I was 8 years old (1976). I learned about the transformative power of music back then. And I've been on the ride ever since. And, boy, was it ever a roller coaster!!

Great reaction - don't listen to the people who call you out for closing your eyes while you listen - when the music really gets to you it's difficult to concentrate on the visuals because your whole being is taken up with feeling the emotions it's dragging out of you.

I was fortunate to attend Pink Floyd's date on this tour in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was a lifelong dream for me and David Gilmour did not disappoint. Truly some of the best musicians ever; 100 years from now, people will see them the same way as we consider, Bach, Beethoven, Bramms, etc.

Like I've said before in other reaction videos, and it bears repeating here. When listening to Pink Floyd, one must allow the piece to flow through you like a white hot river of lava. It is a dish best served hot. I've listened to this particular masterpiece at least a thousand times, and in every instance it leaves me with saying there is nothing left in the universe. Yes there are other artist of note, but David Gilmour and company are the True Consummate Masters of their Craft. PULSE Live was a culmination of a life's work. All the blood, sweat, tears, and years on the road has only tempered their razors edge into something indestructible, and yes will cut through you like hot butter. Now for this piece itself, it is an anthem for the founding member, Mr. Roger "Syd" Barrett. It originally came out in The Wall album back in 1980. It was written by Mr. David Gilmour CBE and Mr. Roger Waters. Mr. Waters was at the time of its release not only one of the founding members, but he was also the groups bass guitarist and principal writers. He departed the group after the issuance of the Final Cut. Mr. Barrett was many decades ahead of his time, both in his raw natural talent, and in his conceptualization of what a concert show should look like. It was Mr. Barrett's vision that you see on concert stages even today. But even in his brilliance, he unfortunately succumbed to the madness of his mind. We lost Mr. Barrett in 2006 due to complications of diabetes. Us "Floydians" was saddened by his passing. In 2008, we lost the founding keyboardist, principal writer, and founding member Mr. Richard Wright from complications of cancer. Again, we were deeply saddened by Mr. Wright's passing. As for any possibility of a reunion of Pink Floyd, it is completely off the table. The remaining members, David Gilmour CBE, Roger Waters, and Nick Mason CBE that are still with us have no desire to. For a parting note, both Gilmour and Mason was awarded Commander of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

I left you a message in High Hopes, but please don't really really hate me, but I've saw Comfortable Numb live twice, once in '94 Pulse tour, and' 12 Roger Waters The Wall tour, so I've seen all the original members perform, (except Sid), it's so refreshing to have Pink Floyd kept alive, especially the Pulse tour, life changing concert, I knew when I left the stadium I'd just saw something that was historic

I was blessed to see David Gilmour in 2016 (April 12, 2016 at MSG) but he auctioned off his guitars for charity last year crushing my soul for I don't think he will ever go touring again. 😭😭

Remember, David Gilmour is now 74 years old. His body will inevitably be deteriorating. There has to come a time when he will not be able to play as well as when he was younger, fingers etc do get stiffer as you get older (and I do know this). I would rather remember his great music than see him push on to where he cannot produce the same magic as before. Too many of the old rockers carry on for too long and to be honest become a little embarrassing. Perhaps now is the right time for him to hang up his guitars.

I started my journey with music at the time of Woodstock! I didn't attend, my best friend did right before I met her, I was always so jealous of that! But honestly, I'm not sure how much she actually remembered 😏! I know how lucky that I and my friends were to have all this music and the concerts that went with it! The live experience of one of these fantastic groups being there with all of those other people, is just hard to explain. It was life changing for most of us. I wish that you could have that feeling 🎶😎🎶🎧🤗!

Genuine reaction. Can’t usually watch these reaction videos but you are so honest in your reactions. Check out Wishbone Ash “Throw down the Sword” for Argus the Original Album version. My early foray into great bands 40+ years ago. Love Floyd and other bands of that era most have never been equalled.

First rule, Keep your eyes on the show. Pink Floyd performances aren't just the audible, they're also the visual. The lights are a key part of the show. They use them to amplify the emotions of the song. By closing your eyes, bouncing your head you've ignored most of the show. The end of the song comes and you finally realized what you've missed. You might want to go back and Watch the whole performance.

Dave wrote the music in 1977 for a solo album but didn't use it Roger wrote the words for it in 1979 for the WALL album. If you like his guitar work watch any video out there some even has orchestra backing him up.( Gdansk and WROCLAW 2016 )

Well because it's not the live recording... It's an ENHANCED version with "bad notes" fixed from several recordings... As much as PF is my favorite band, I can't stand people not knowing that they edit it ON PURPOSE, and it's OFFICIAL... David explained that... And I disagree with him on this point, but hey, I love to watch this overly edited "performance" which is pure fiction.

ALERT YOU LISTENED TO A CUT, SHORTENED VERSION. If you did not specifically watch the UNCUT version, you are missing over one minute of guitar solo at the end. And I WISH PEOPLE WOULD ALWAYS SUGGEST THE UNCUT VERSION. To hell with the visuals are better, everybody would rather hear that extra minute of David Gilmour transporting our souls!

hey shashank, here´s a suggestion: watch the same song "gilmour live in pompeii 2016" (22 years after pulse) and see how gilmour (over 70) matures. it is incredible. and let the video run for 1 more minute after it ends, just to get a feeling why his bands works so phenomenally good.

One day I will get through this performance without my eyes welling up! Beautiful comments and I love the thought of their music as being meditative. Try Echoes the studio version first, long track but you will get lost into it.

you mentioned you weren´t even born in 1994. at this time, they were already rockin´ 30 years. the studio version you listened to before was from 1979. now you could even widen the span: there´s a wonderful version of this song from 2016, david gilmour live in pompeii 2016. flawless. gilmour is aging like good old red wine.

@@lynnhoffman247 I would have thought when someone puts up a video and part of the description is "FIRST LISTEN/REACTION" that they would actually watch and listen to what's going on. How are you meant to react to a performance if you don't actually watch it? As you said he already knows the song but claims he has not SEEN the performance and closing your eyes means you never will see it.

If you like Pink Floyd as much as it seems, sadly there is only ONE WAY you're going to see their music "live" in concert other than an older dvd... more importantly done exacting to the studio albums adding a very good example of PF's light show. With that said, you may wanna check out this group that's IMO far better than a tribute band!! PF had 15 studio albums... 3 live albums, 9 compilation albums not to mention multiple live dvds and solo albums performed by below members of the band. Yet another reactor closing eyes during the video. Sheesh, how are we supposed to believe anything you say about this amazing video when your freaking eyes are closed through half of it!!

I wonder how people "react" to a video with closed eyes!! I hate that!

I've often wondered that myself when someone is "watching" a performance for the first time with their eyes closed most of the time. Kinda get the feeling they've already watched it before watching it again... for the first time. Eyes wide shut perhaps.
