Pinhal Novo is a setubal Portuguese parish of the municipality of Palmela, with 55.84 km ² of area and 30 500 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 447,8 hab./km2.
As part of the administrative organization of the Portuguese State, the State of Parish was founded on February 10, 1928. It has an urban dimension and services, a manufacturing industry related to electric cables and electrodes (Electro-Arco) and motor mechanics. It is railway center. Despite this, there is a significant increase in commercial and even industrial activities (such as cutting-edge industries) due to the projects to be installed in the surroundings, such as the Logistics Platform of Poceirão, High Speed ​​Transport (TGV) with the consequent connection by bridge to Lisbon (Chelas-Barreiro) and to Madrid and the future International Airport of Lisbon in the zone of the Field of Shot of Alcochete. High in the hierarchical category of town in 1988 by Law Nº45 / 88, of April 19, 1988, its population growth augures that sooner or later it will be elevated to the hierarchical category of city and county.
