This is the server where Ketmit the Frog was our teacher, we had a coalition called the Buttersworth Family of like 20+ people then the admins kicked us because we kept asking to go on a field trip to Voldemort's house.

The funny thing is these players aren't failing RP at all. It's just the admins being overly rigid. Protests against sorting is something not that improbable to happen at some point within the Hogwarts setting

Ive never read the books, but I would be surprised if sorting is not at least a little controversial in them. I know some people were upset with their sorting, it only makes sense that some unsorted wouldnt want to be.

@@ZeallustImmortal sorting is a complete mess in the books, especially because some of the houses just have terrible reputations (the green guys being all evil while the yellow ones are mediocre at best), and a lot of characters aren't happy with their sorting. A protest against it to make houses something you can pick is not the weirdest thing I can imagine.

Shout outs to the mod who actually fell after being pushed Could have ignored it but he actually went along with it, which is honestly what more of these mods should do

The best thing about this is that, while all of this was going on, the _hardcore players_ on the server were sat in their make-believe classes in silence waiting to receive a spell book.

This is honestly something that would be actually part of new Harry Potter lore. Young Gen Z students get tired of being labeled and categorized into houses, so they start a student protest, refuse to recognize the the 4 houses, and band together as one group. Would’ve been cool if the admins just went with it and turned the serve raid into a huge role play scenario.

Yeah but that requires you to be an actual good rper. Fun fact, I'm an RPer in mmos for well over 8 years at this point. And turning chaotic raids from non-rpers into actual rp was one of my favorite things. And would it shock you if I told you, that because of it several of them actually became Rpers? RP is usually the embodiment of chaos in mmos, you never know what you're in for. Rolling with the punches and making it work is the mark of someone whos actually rping for fun, not to have a power-trip fantasy. I think a lot of people use RP as a way to live their fanfiction, often disregarding other people's agency. And get mad if things don't go the right way. I've gotten into a lot of problems with people cause my character didn't like theirs, and called them on their shit. They'd resort to meta or ooc crying about it. Rpers are so cringe, I feel second hand embarrassment.

The amount of hours my friends and I have put into trolling on this server. The amount of accounts they have banned that belong to us. We've caused so much strife on their forums. "There's no way these guys have bought 50 accounts each, it must just be a large group." It's like 5 or 6 of us

I do wish they let you have your fun and assault the forest at least once hogwarts rp is usually a lot better about letting people bullshit than the other rpservers, first time i played a longtime player showed me around and took me to all the places you werent supposed to go, we snuck around and got into trouble it was great

If I was an admin on this server, I would’ve had fun with them. Yeah I still would’ve kicked them out (not ban them ) But I would’ve at least rp’d while doing it. Like, I would’ve played up being some kind of “spirit guard” who has come to banish all the intruders, who dared to invade these halls!

the admins are being way too meta. there should be a clear difference between school rules and server rules. school rules are supposed to be punished in roleplay scenarios instead of staff interference. i have no idea how this stuff flies right over their heads, i guess they really do get bored after everyone is banned and its just longtime abiding players.

Because it's not their way of course.

So a flying entity spawning a wall to block new studants from getting into the school is not fail RP, but Studants raging against the school system and making an event almost crating a new school, all of this while having fun is fail RP. The only ones getting bother by this were the admins, all the other players were just having fun or not caring. That's why I'll never understand Gmod RP
