Ingredients ⅓ cup butter, melted ½ cup brown sugar 1 (20 oz) can sliced pineapple, drained and pineapple juice reserved 13 maraschino cherries (optional) 2 eggs ⅔ cup sugar ⅓ cup pineapple juice, from canned pineapple 2 teaspoons vanilla, divided 1 cup sifted flour ½ teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon salt

It's the old version of Betty Crocker's pineapple upside down cake. Recipe below. Topping: 1/3 cup butter, melted 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 can pineapple rings Maraschino cherries Walnuts if you want Cake batter; Wet ingredients: 2 eggs 1/2 cup sugar 6 Tablespoons pineapple juice 1 teaspoon vanilla Dry ingredients: 1 cup flour 1/3 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt Use a 9 or 10 inch round cake pan. It can also be made in a 10 inch cast-iron skillet. I do not add my vanilla to my brown sugar. I add it to the wet ingredients for the cake batter after whisking the eggs and sugar and after adding the pineapple juice. Otherwise, I make it the same way as in the short. IMPORTANT! Let the cake cool 10 to 15 minutes in the cake pan before flipping, so your cake doesn't break apart.

I made it. I think I needed to add more juice or more fluid to the cake batter. It ended up being very dense. To make it more enjoyable, I put it in a bowl and added a little bit of milk to eat it.

You don’t put sugar, pineapple juice and vanilla extract in pineapple up side down cake mix, the brown sugar and pineapple juice and pineapple provide you with all the flavors you’ll need.
