Pinball History | How Sophisticated is this 1940 Genco Pinball Machine? | Hunting for Specials
Ойындар
Pinball without flippers? Where's the fun in that? This video answers that exact question. In this pinball history video, we dive into the gameplay of Big League, a 1940 Genco woodrail gambling pinball machine. We put on the glasses of the player of the late 1930s - early 1940s, who was quite a different person than todays pinball players are: he was a gambler.
Big League was made before the Second World War: a so-called Prewar pinball machine. It's one of the first that uses bumpers and rollover switches. It uses a combination of relays and a precursor of the score motor for its sophisticated and quite complicated rules.

lovely feature! sometimes, when i see photos of old pin games like this one, i like to study the table's layout for a bit to see how a full game might have been played. having everything broken down like it was in the 'analysis' section is really nice!
Awesome video. It looks very nice and is very clear. Thank you
Great tutorial!

Thank you! 😀
That last mechanism that you show, how is it triggered and how is it used? Looks like some kind of time delay to do several things in sequence? This video is so well done, such a great tribute to the machine.

Thank you so much Kyle! That mechanism (located in the cabinet) is an early adaptation of a score motor. Together with 5 relays, it controls the logic on the amount of points the player gets for scoring a flag rollover switch (0 / 1000 / 2000 / 3000 / 4000 / 5000). There's more info on the ipdb page of the machine.
Actually please do talk about how it works on the inside in a future video
