The most sensitive parts of any country are the land, river and sea borders. Kung tatawid ka make sure na may exit and entry stamps ka in both countries para walang problema, but since she crossed through boat there is something not adding up. Mataas ang security patrols ng river borders so she should have researched before going there. Kaya kapag turista ka, siguraduhin mo na alam mo ang mga batas at sitwasyon ng lugar. If she wanted to visit Myanmar sana alam niya din na may gulo dun ngayon at mag ingat sa mga nagaalok na di mo kilala even if they're locals. Those borders are known for frequent visa runners, human trafficking access points and illegal detentions kaya more precautions talaga. Talamak jan sa mga areas na yan sa SEA. Yan ang totoong kalakaran jan and I learned about it with other kababayans across SEA when I was an OFW before. Andami kong nabalitaang human trafficking cases jan before. Border patrols are ruthless too in terms of suspicious tourists kaya dapat alamin mo talaga yung lugar by researching before going there. Ganyan din kalakaran sa mga land borders ng Indonesia and Malaysia. Lalo na yung mga lumulusot from Tawi-Tawi to Malaysia. Kaya hindi mo sila masisisi na naghigpit sila lately just like SG na nakaRed alert tayo sa land border nila dahil sa mga ganitong cases. Sana lang may tumulong sa kanya para makauwi dahil forever na sa immigration records niya ang pagka detain or possible deportation. Mas mahihirapan ka na magapply ng mas magagandang visas if meron kang mga ganyang records. So she should have kept her records clean. PS. One valuable thing I learned from my overseas work ventures is to remember: Their laws will ALWAYS side with their locals kahit turista or foreigner ka. Unless malakas kapit mo pero its so rare that you get off the hook so be very respectful on their laws kahit sobrang conservative. Don't bring your ignorance in a foreign country because it will only cause you distress. Baka ikaw pa ang pagmulan ng conflict ng bawat bansa. Tapos dinamay mo pa ang reputasyon ng mga matitinong OFWs na legal na nagtratrabaho doon. O diba, nakakahiya. So always remember: Its their country, their culture, their laws, deal with it. Period.

I'm part Thai part Filipino, raised here in TH. There have been news around here about those borders where illegal activities are going on. That particular border is on the list. It's either she's naive about borders or lured by those people promising work, who are actually involved in human-trafficking. I really hope the government help her, it's not a country you want to be stuck in. Cambodia and Myanmar can be really scary/dangerous. For those Filipinos getting offers most especially on FB about call centers/customer service jobs here in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. Please don't entertain them, you will end up locked up and worked up as a slave for scammers(love scams are their thing). They will take your passport and beat you up if you don't reach the quota/target they wanted. You can check with MFA or Labor Departments of that particular country if the company name given to you is legal. My Thai cousin works for the immigration police and these evil recruiters are lurking around in volumes. Some caught are also Filipinos who put their own people in danger, so please be very careful.🙏🏻🙏🏻 Extra reminder: There are Filipinos who are also under these illegal activities who are willing participants. There was a lady named Janet who scammed fellow Filipinos with a lot of money, and she did it mostly to nannies. Don't trust these recruiters easily even if they are also Filipinos. I have lived here in Thailand for 26 years and visited Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar a lot. My advice is if you want a job in any of these countries, apply directly to companies. It's actually not hard, there are many times they would help you all the way even with your visa if you are qualified for what they are looking for. More recruiting agencies are devil in sheep's clothing than the good ones. Please feel free to ask me for any guidance or assistance in regards to travelling here in Thailand and the bordering countries.

when you travel - particularly if you are traveling as a tourist - stick to your itinerary. do not decide to take this or that on a whim, most especially if that has something to do with border control or if involves legal implications for that matter. i hope she'll just be fine and return home safe and sound.

You crossed Kraburi River from Mae Sot to Myawaddy, which consider as no mans land (except locals) because of the border dispute that resulted to Military clashes only a few years back, I am happy for you that you are still alive.

As a seasonal backpacker myself at the age 24yo been travelling almost every corner in the ASEAN regions. Sure it was fun but I’ve also had my own dose of immigration moments where I just broke into tears on a room full of other foreigners! FYI hard copy printed itineraries are STILL A MUST.. keeping a spare docs in your mobile is fine but remember in 3rd world countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, they will ask you still tons of documents! Now at 28yo, learned almost all the ropes, tricks and thrills and take it as a vital lesson whenever wherever I travel overseas.. She’s young and innocent and yeah I get that a lot it’s nice to be carefree like that but real world situation will give you more lifelong education.

@@sssss979 heyya! Well thanks for asking me not really a pro but here are my basic travel must-haves 1. Enough cash and only depends to merchants or online purchase when necessary or to save your cash for street merchants without POS, convert currency in NAIA as early as you can as the rates are typically higher than the destination country.. is what my mum says at least 😅 2. Travel insurance with Covid coverage 3. Booked roundtrip tix - BUT some travel hacks I learned along the way is book one way each.. for me it’s cheaper such as when flying Air Asia or Scoot 4. Always prepare an international roaming ahead.. ask your network provider if you have any.. the one that will keep you afloat for 3-5days trip at least 5. Local employment docs to say the least.. you already know what I meant with this esp. for solo chick traveling within ASEAN parts 6. Check out any events happening in which country you are visiting. Eg, if there’s any concerts nearby, then if you want the IO to trust you enough you’re only going out to have some good time just really chill with these kinds of excursions 7. Be internationally brave! Can’t tell the rest as I’m still learning myself too but hope this helps! 🤍💙🤍

Hope she and the rest are safe - Hope they come back as soon as possible to Philippines. With all the chaos going on right now - please be careful whom you meet - and do your own research and don’t rely on people you just met. We all have to be aware every country has its own policies. I hope this case will be resolved and the Pinoys can return sa Pinas safely. This is one of the major dangers of travelling alone or away from groups or without tour guides. Research & inquiries are essential, especially to countries with strict boarders, ensure documentation (i.e. passport, permits) are available as always, collaborate or at least determine the contact/location of government agencies, embassies, or consulate on that country. Yes, most of tourists are looking for "challenge accepted" moments to seek & visit locations, but do it with extra care and never just trust a stranger. Again, research and inquire before proceeding.

Why did she quit her job three days before she went to Thailand? If she's just a tourist then why was she in Mae Sot which is 7 hours away from Bangkok and known to be the gateway to Myanmar? Minsan kasi kesyo matalino daw kaya may magandang trabaho, pero sa ganitong simpleng sitwasyon di ko alam kung ginagamit pa ba nila utak nila. Kapag kasi traveller ka or mahilig magbakasyon sa ibang bansa matic na yan eh na dapat may idea ka about sa pupuntahan mong lugar, dapat aware ka kung may current issue ang lugar na yan. It really makes me mad na sa simpleng pang iingat di nila magawa. KABOBOHAN talaga eh.

This happen to alot of people in Taiwan and some Hong Kong people. Some went for advertised high paying jobs with no need of job experience but turns out to be phone scam syndicate. There were also people went for vacation in Thailand and was kidnap by the syndicate.

Yes that’s right po. But on the first place, malalaman mo na illegal especially if walang proper working docs before ka umalis ng bansa. So ba’t mo pa gagawin lalo nat tourist ang sasabihin sa IO. It is never wrong to desire higher income, lalo na’t ang hirap ng buhay ngayon sa atin but if mag aabroad we should do it the proper way. Wag piliin ang madaliang paraan lalo nat illegal naman. Minsan talaga tayo din nagdadala sa ating sarili sa kapahamakan and when that happens, blame na naman sa govt or another problem ng lahat na sana ay maibigay nalang sa ating mga OFW na legal na nagttrabaho at kailangan ng tulong ng gobyerno.

Travelled to Southeast Asia for 6 years in the past and I must say mejo sketchy ung situation ni ate. Don't get me wrong pero ano ung reason bakit sya hinuli. I also crossed the borders thru water and land pero I never got in trouble. Also, if she crosses the border and go to Myanmar then successfully go back to Thailand it means she can have another 30 days free visa to stay in Thailand and gawain yan ng mga naghahanap ng work or illegally working already sa Thailand. Also if she's on month-long vacation, bakit puro airport pics lang meron xa. The family should serve us more information Or either she didn't really disclose everything to her family.

As a tourist, it is imperative that as one, you have proof that you have reasons to come back, from your country which you are temporarily leaving. Like, job, legal documents of obligations(ex: mortgages under your name), and properties, etc. There is no way the immigration officers won’t find out about her resignation from her job here when purely her intention is just to visit their country. Kung hindi ka marunong sumunod sa sarili mong bansa wag mo ring dalhin sa ibang bansa. Keep in mind kung saang bansa ka naroon yun ang laws na dapat mong sundin. Kung hari ka ng pag gawa ng ingay sa Pinas hindi pwede yan sa ibang bansa. Sa US 🇺🇸 10 pm tahimik na ang neighborhood at kung maingay ka pa rin mag kakaron ka ng pulis na bisita na tinawagan ng mga kapitbahay mo. Wag maging pasaway sa sariling bansa at sa bansa ng iba.

Right now the government is the one with the power to help her. They better send an ambassador there to talk peacefully for her release. Let's see what Marcos will do with this problem. If if were the previous president he'd probably already send an army to rescue her there. Nakakasuka lang din ibang mga kapwa pinoy na nagcocomment dito na akala mo alam na alam yung nangyari sa babae. Mahirap paniwalaan yong reason niyo mga madam because of the circumstances...

Many young Filipinas go to Thailand to meet up with foreigners and be married off. I hope her motive of traveling is clarified and that she met her objectives safe and sound.

Ilang beses na Ako sa Thailand. Di Naman Yan tourist spot Ang Mae sot.pero baka gusto nya maging tourist sa drugs, human trafficking, at black market. Eh NASA tamang Lugar sya.hirap Kaya makapunta Dyan. Aarte pa sya.

No comment.. Sana makauwi sya ng safe.. Lesson learn na Yan sa mga Filipino, wag basta basta mag desisyon, pag aralan muna ng mabuti..

one of the reasons kung bakit mahigpit ang Philippine immigration officers sa atin. They're doing it for our sake and protection. I hope she gets rescued. Nakakapagtaka lang kung bakit pa siya nagpunta roon..

Obvious naman na hindi tourists ang gagawin kc sv sq interview sa ina may work daw pero nag resign after 3 days bago mag flight so ang linaw ng intention, hindi tourists lang

i was in Myanmar last december, felt pretty safe naman.

Yung pag quit niya ng job is highly suspicious. Kc kung balak niya lang magbakasyon ay hindi dapat siya nag resigned. Aminin natin na during bakasyon ay puro gastos so kailangan natin palitan natin ang perang nawala unless we are millionaires di ba. Yung ibang celebrities nga after ng bonggang bakasyon ay balik trabaho agad. Pero ganun pa man, we hope na maayos ang problema niya kasama ang pagdarasal na hindi siya mapaoahamak. For sure she learned from it. At sana lang kahit daming problema ang ating gobyerno ay matutulungan siya dahil nakakagaan at nakakasaya ng puso natin if you save life na hindi naghahangad ng kapalit. Ako laging nagdadasal para sa mga anak ko na h’wag silang gumawa ng mga bagay na magpapahamak sa kanila. Aguy pastilan Inday , ngano jud tawon. Look what happened na hinuon🙏🏻

pag ma isearch mo sa google ang Mae Sot River makikita mo n ang boarder sa kabilang ibayo at makikita mo na hindi nmn sya tourist spot pano sya naenggaynyo mamasyal sa ganun lugar nakakapagtaka lang kung anong reason,ganun pa man ipagdasal nalang natin na maibalik sya matulungan ng gobyerno,sana wala ng maulit na ganito.

pag crossing naman sa borders, usually passport lang needed... siguro andun sila napunta sa scammers na known for human trafficking...

myanmar is in a state of military junta for 2 years already... estimated 250k were displaced because of fighting between rebels and military... not the worst place for being a tourist but its wasnt a good choice neither

Gosh you're right. The military has probably taken her hostage and will soon demand a random for her freedom, to which the Philippine government cannot give them since we have this no ransom policy.

Prayers is the least of their concern. What the family needs now is the government to do immediate action, send people to talk to the people who has their daughter and make negotiations to have her released.

Filipinos can stay in Thailand upto 30days Lang with our passport. Pero nagresign Siya Sa work eh and since Dec 7 pa Siya Sa Thailand. Dun nag Christmas and New Year which is not really Gawain Ng pinoy. We usually prefer to stay muna Sa family in those times Diba unless Hindi vacation ang goal niya at may ibang plan. And Dec 7 pa Siya dun ang tagal Naman 1month talaga Siya. Feeling ko gusto niya magextend Ng stay Kasi may gagawin siya Sa Thailand Kaya nagcross sila Ng border para pagbalik Ng Thailand another 30 days na Naman sila Sa Thailand. Ano bang gagawin niya Sa Thailand and paano niya susustentohan ang stay niya dun na ganun Ka tagal unless she's looking for a job there or someone offered them a job.

Next time po sana bago po,tayo pumunta sa ibang bansa cguraduhing legit na trabaho yung pupuntahan mo. Or kung tourist ka man dun be sure na kahit papaano eh nagresearch ka man lng kunti sa,mga laws nila dun pra alam,mo rin at may idea ka sa kung ano2 yung mga bawal dun. At higit sa lahat respect and obey their laws. Pra hindi mapahamak.🙏
