Humans get them too, search for "controlling goosebumps". I have been able to since I was 7 and by tweaking my neck slightly and focusing on the soft spot between my spine and head until 2-4 waves of energy can be created causing a ripple effect that runs all over my skin. Takes about 10 minutes to recharge and it can hurt if you don't wait.

My dog is afraid of my cat- and when my cat came close to her, she began to shake and only a patch of fur stood up at the base of her tail. What exactly does that mean?

Get your dog in check! If you don’t, your dog will soon be put down, meaning killed. Either by people or another animal. Don’t be the reason for your dogs death.

What 6kstringz is saying to all who reacted to his comment that his dog killed another dog is a response to the video that is misleading people. You take the video's example what dominance and fear is you will get the same result. Technically you don't let your dog continue the behavior and no signs or illustration can tell exactly what it is until its too late because every raised hackles in every dog tells differently. In other words there are lots of factor to consider not just the raised hackles. The study is only a pattern they assume is normal, in dog aggression you dont fix it with assumptions, dont do monkey see monkey do youtube university.
