Pikmin 3 Sound Effect Trivia
Ойындар
Hello! I'm Scruffy, and today, I'll be dissecting the sound effects in Pikmin 3 to find out what it can teach us as players and sound designers! We'll look at easter eggs, references, and a more in-depth description of how sounds are created later in the video.

You could put your videos in a game design school - they're so well produced, organized, and easy to follow

I really appreciate how well researched and explained this video is, as someone who doesn't know much about sound design your deconstruction of the sounds made it really understandable and gave me a stronger appreciation for how these sounds are made and their effect in game. Thank you.

I love these videos. They feel amateur, because the simple style, how he makes complex things to easy understand and how down to earth he is, but at the same professional, because the topics are complex and interesting and despite the simple style, is incredibly high quality and charming. Keep up the good work, Scruffy! (Edit) Amateur is probably the wrong word. What I'm trying to say is it feels insanely high quality but at the same time doesn't feel robotic and processed.

Maybe "homemade" works better than "amateur"? Kind of like home cooking that's really good, but doesn't taste like they put additives in it or smthn.

Pikmin 3 was such an unforgettable game. I really hope Pikmin 4 comes out soon enough on the Switch.
I'm not entirely sure if I am picking up on what was your exact thought process behind the Pikmin Trivia series, but I appreciate how in the sound design installments you keep the audio very clear and not diluted so the audience can focus on the sounds you talk about, while you have fun with the visuals to emphasize your point, whereas in the model trivia you keep the screen clear so that the audience can easily see the models you talk about, while the audio is very fun and lively to get the audience excited to learn. I think this is a very cool piece of design and just goes to show how much effort, care, and love went into these videos. Thanks, Scruffy, and have a nice day!

So many of these sound effects were so cool, especially the plasm wraith ones, it's a shame they're so faint and get hidden by the music most of the time.

This is my first video of yours, recommended purely by chance, and the way you go into the details while explaining everything clearly is admirable for me. This video legitimately grounded me from a bad mental episode, and I know that’s quite the bomb to drop but your work is just that amazing. Thanks, Scruffy! You earned a new sub~
THANK YOU I LOVE THESE VIDEOS SO MUCH!!!!! by far my favorite pikmin content on youtube!
Nice! I’ve been waiting for more pikmin!

Absolutely adore this series, very happy that you're still doing it!
I can’t wait to watch this tonight lol, your videos are great man, I watched a ton of them every night before bed because of how informative and aesthetically pleasing they are. Don’t ever stop :)
Little could match the excitement I felt seeing this in my inbox. A very well produced video as always! Still incredibly interesting to hear so much about little design techniques and tidbits across Pikmin. Cheers! YOU'RE what We love.

I just found this video and your channel and WOW. So much went into this video and you should have so many more subscribers! Honestly was such a huge pleasure to watch this and can't wait to binge watch all of your other videos
why didn't we ever get videos like this in school? seriously, your simple drawings and video style kept me interested in something I barely think about.
Very good as always, Scruffy! I love to hear you talk about sound design and especially Pikmin too. Can't wait to see what you have next in store :)
Bro I adore these videos, they're so charming and well made. It feels like a professional is info dumping and I just love listening to people talk about subjects they're passionate about
These videos are always so interesting to watch! I look forward to the next :)
Perfect video, I love learning the little details. I dig the minimalist aesthetic of your videos.
How do your videos have such high quality? The way you capture not only the small details of certain game designs but also the way you explain complex concepts in a very understandable manner makes you stand out so much! There are many content-creators that I like, however your videos are on another level. It's something, that you can't even explain properly. I really want to support you in any way I can!
I just recently subscribed to your channel, I love your Pikmin videos!
I'm glad to see another upload from you! I can only listen to your tracks so many times!
Oh sweet, wasn't expecting talk about formant and vowel qualities here, love it.
This youtube channel is perfect. Thank you for your work!
The Scornet Maistro one was really cool!
the world doesn't deserve the content Scruffy makes for us, yet he does it anyway. Great vid!
You have an ability to break complex things down in a way that anyone can understand, it’s amazing.

Amazing. Not enough love is given to sound design. Art and music take the obvious places in people’s minds, but I’ve always been most impressed by thoughtful sound design and engineering.
Astonishing attention to the audio detail with a lovely personality that gives the video depth and interest- instantly subscribed!
This is a great video. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love sound design a lot, and this was an amazing video. thanks!
This is really wonderful - it's rare to find great breakdowns of game sound design, so thank you for this.
do i watch the older vids just for the “hello! i’m scruffy” plus the fact i don’t understand a single thing scruffys saying? absolutely the intro gives SO much serotonin
Man the design in the plasma wraith fight is amusing. I can't even count how many time me n my friend were legit jumps cared by this blob
Never played a pikmin game but these i always look forward to these videos, such amazing content!
Scruffy you’re amazing!! I’m so happy people still care about how beautiful Pikmin is
Oh boy this is so magical, what an amazing video ❤
As an artist, I'm DEEPLY fascinated and continue to be awestruck by the attention to detail that goes into the sound design of Pikmin and its wonderful, beautiful world. There's the good ol' Nintendo I grew up with!! Being resourceful and twisting up sounds and voices to create surreal and deeply enthralling environments and entities to draw the audience further into the experience. A fascinating video/channel, this is a great learning experience. I wish to see more work like this in the future :)
Hell yeah, I’ve been waiting for this
Another amazing video as always Scruffy
