Dear ssinpou, I really appreciate that you took the time to upload this video. For that I'm grateful. My complain is with Red Bull or who ever made the video for not doing a better job. This is a great driver driving a great car and breaking records. But I hope there will be a better version soon. Again, a sincere thanks for your effort.

C'est incroyable qu'en 2013 on ait eu droit à une retransmission de si faible qualité. On ne voit rien. J'ai allumé le PC vers 16h30 et je me suis emmerdé pendant 3 heures pour voir la course, de loin depuis un hélico, et sans son. Honteux de la part de RedBullTV. En tout cas, Bravo à M. Loeb, qui nous a épaté, une fois de plus !

I loved that part where they said "he's definitely going up the mountain now". I learned a great deal from that insightful commentary.

Oui, il est bon en pilotage, mais vous me décevez tous. Vous oubliez le plus important > la machine 208 T16 avec ses 1ch pour 1kg Donc n'oubliez pas les ingénieurs et la qualité de la voiture, qui ont pu amener Sébastien Loeb avec des performances exceptionnelles et en toute sécurité, on le voit bien qu'il ne prend pas trop de risques, il n'est pas au limite de la voiture, pour lui c'est une course de plus, avec son expérience, il a pu attraper un record en mode NORMAL

Dear Red Bull. Please do not dumb down motorsport like this. It was a remarkable effort from Peugeot and Loeb, but the coverage was awful. Why do you choose to have, what sounds like ex baseball commentators, with little car knowledge cover such an event? I mean no disrespect to the commentators, as they did their best to keep us entertained, but they are clearly out of their element. Listen from 0:54 to the discription of the car - just embarrassing! Don't be afraid to get nerdy, and gain respect from the true fans - knowledge can be exciting, and even sexy. You will still please the broad population, with the record in itself, the helicopter shots and beautiful scenery. Come on - up the game!

Firstly redbull are not dumbing down motorsport in anyway considering they have sponsored loeb in nearly every form of motorsport (incluing an aborted attempt in F1 due to the FIA not giving him a "super licence"). Secondly coverage is due to the support of hillclimb in the global media. Hillclimb has a vastly lower budget than the likes of F1. This both serves to help and hinder the sport, as with more budget and popularity the spectators would grow and we would end up with a WRC group B scenario again where unlimited hillclimb would have to be banned because it is simply "too" unsafe. Redbull did not choose the commentators, the owners of the broadcast rights did, and that would be ESPN who wouldnt get anyone with decent car knowledge because hillclimb is not a popular american motorsport. If you had Nascar or... nascar you would have more technical details. i hear the same from football fans as its not popular in america.

Heh. Its a shame but perhaps one day someone with enthusiasm will pick up the broadcast rights, or atleast some motorsport commentators will work for ESPN.

Agree entirely, total professional under immense pressure to deliver which he did beyond expectations with a stunning time, then you get the rest, terrible.

Hoped for onboard camera with engine sound from start to finish like the famous Vatenen footage. Got a couple of septics rabbiting over the whole thing with a spaceman view. Yes yr right my friend. They are all under PSA (where I also worked for a while:-) But this is all about competition. Why did Peugeot have Chris Meeke to test their new 208 R5 spec rally car in Ypres Rally? Why then didn't they call one of Citroen's WRC class drivers e.g. Hirvonen for this outing? My point is simply to speak out greatness of Loeb, who made Peugeot to override their own rally drivers and obliged them to take a "loan" form Citroen. In fact Loeb has always raced with Citroen... Not only have they ruined the event by laying tarmac but then they cap it off with some Numpty commentators who have no idea about motorsport. A sad day for Pikes Peak indeed. Not taking anything away from Loeb though, well done. Although Im sure he would of loved to have done it on gravel and joined likes of Vatanen.

What a waste of 14 minutes. Probably the most epic run up the hill ruined totally by hopeless coverage. Who the hell put the commentators desk on the actual start line?!?!? I like to hear a car warming up as much as the next guy - but not when it drowns out the action. Since he mentioned redbull.com every 30 seconds at least we know who was responsible for this motorsport sacrilege

Fast forward to 5:30 if you want to get past the b.s. and see some driving.

I have never seen / heard such bad coverage. They said absolutely nothing and missed almost everything important. At one point I think he said.. "and we can actually see Sebastian making his way up the hill..."

This is just a benchmark for coming years... Now that the whole mountain is paved is it a clearly different monster. Ignoring this new "record time" its not the same track, no unpaved sections anymore.

J'aime la façon de tous les français a idolâtrer loeb comme si il était le seul auteur de cette performance en oubliant tout les mécanicien, ingénieur, techniciens qui ont travaillés des mois sur cette voiture... Un peu comme pendant ses victoires en rallye ou tout le monde "suce" loeb en oubliant jusqu’à son copilote ou son équipe qui ont pas du être cités une seule fois quand on évoque les 9 titres de loeb, a croire qu'il a fais sa tout seul... Bref, je trouve sa bien triste.

Exactly... they announce the car has onboard video, external cams and all things to make it an exciting video and all they give is switching back and forth between a non working heli cam, and the Waldorf and Stadler act of those two muppets
