when running from a giant slow robot, make sure you run as slowly as you can down the middle of the street for half the episode. do NOT take any side alleys and always stay bunched up and the droid will always miss.

Those droids were incredibly formidable except against Rancors and mud/brick walls.

And normal people with blasters. Probably normal people without blasters as well. Lets face it, considering their weapons make no impression on a mud wall something like a Knight from the dark ages, or even just a conscrip with a big enough wooden shield is going to be able to ignore these things with impunity.

The wall had a firing step, implying it was built as part of a compound's fortifications. It's likely that such walls would be built of materials resistant to laser cannon fire.

These droids make no sense for how they were used. Their laser cannons did little damage for their size. The way they were set up it was almost like they were there to intimidate a surrender. They should have sent them in first. They have high durability and low firepower. These things should have been the spear tip.

@@Dlstufguy2 They also dont seem to understand the concept of firing at range, they keep holding their fire till their like 5 feet away from the target.

It is my belief that the Pike Syndicate Scorpenek Annihilator Droids were created to gaslight the universe into believing that Stormtroopers actually had good aim.

Annihilator Droids might need a software update to its target tracking or maybe because they are so old they could only hit slow or non moving targets.

Unless I'm mistaken, the second droid seemed like it took power intentionally from the back to tank the hit from the rankor. The back side was red before it was hit.

Oh I know star wars is capable of orienting shield strength. The original in 1977 had this during the battle of yavin. I guess I wasn't clear. The video said it was the rankor hitting the shield that weakened the back side. I was pointing out that I think the Droid did it intentionally to strengthen the front to take the hit from the rankor before the rankor swung. I might be wrong, I'd have to rewatch it to check the timing.

The perfect weapon for if you don't want to hit anything. What were they thinking making them so incapable of shooting that it kills immersion?

I like to think that they were so expensive for the pikes that they couldn't afford the good computer to go with it, and they had to put a gonk Droid brain in it, so they had terrible targeting

  • @opratorkilo4649

I love how they brought one of if not my most favorite droid from the depths of star wars lore out to the main scene. BUT come-on these things where killers in the expanded universe. They aren't stormtroopers that comically miss their targets when its plot convenient. They are droids with literal targeting computers built into them by the Colicoids who spared no expense when it came to droid manufacturing. If it wasn't for plot convenience im sure our beloved Boba and his gang would've been dead before the rancor could've shown its face. If all it take is two of technological terrors to turn a whole battalion of clone troopers and a column of AT-TEs to dust, idk what kinda vibranium plot armor this is but i want it in my life😂

  • @albertbarie5305

Maybe their targeting was off because the Syndicate needed to update the firmware. I mean those guys are known to use the spice they sell.

It's a good time to be a Star Wars fan. My 10 year old self is geeking out over all this content we are getting and we have part of a theme park dedicated to it. If you had told me that we would get all of this awesomeness back in the late 70's and early 80's, I would call you a liar. Love it, love it, love it. Say what you want to say about Disney shepherding the franchise, but they are the only ones I think who have the resources to bring this to fruition. Can't wait for the second season of Boba Fett and the upcoming Mandalorians.

The black wookie is a MOD too. In his history he volunteered for the gladiator fights, went through trials and received modifications to his fists. He won every match, became champion, owned the modifications, killed whoever ran the matches and took up bounty hunting. Read his history

An epic battle of like 30 people and some robots that cant hit a crowd at point blank range running away from them in a straight line with weapons so weak they cant chip mud off an adobe wall. That sure is epic. Kind of reminds me of the epic squirt gun fight my neighbors kids had with eachother on the front lawn the other day. Those squirt guns would have made more of an impression on the mud wall than the Scorpenek droids weapons though. Maybe the Pike Syndicate should consider a squirt gun retrofit to make them more deadly?

But then its laser cannons should have blasted those buildings and walls to shreds. In the end of the day it was just good fun action and the main characters had plot armor stronger than the droid’s shields.

Jedi spinning around for no reason every ten seconds in every movie they have ever been in and noone says anything, but a Mod does it once and everybody loses their shit about how stupid it is. Yes, spinning around, thus turning your back to your enemy, is dumb AF, but it is ahell of alot more dumb when you are right next to them and they are holding a laser sword that can cut through almost anything including your soft "crude matter" like a glowing hot razer sharp blade through very warm butter.

Oh and at this point I think it's safe to say baby Yoda might possess the shatterpoint ability. His ability to strike at the weak point is also a possible nod to who saved him during order 66, think about it. What other jedi possesed shatterpoint and was unaccounted for after getting his arm cut off?

Why were these droids programed to shoot everywhere exept where their targets are? That seems like a strange design choice for a battle droid. Normaly when you give something a gun its because you want it to shoot your enemys right? Were these things just a big practical joke or something?
