That does look like Arapawa Island.. and lousy with pigs ..I worked there in the early nineteen eighties replacing the old party line to the automatic exchange for what was then called post office and telephone nowadays telecom..myself and two other put up the poles and new line was a great job and place to work in those days.. I had two pig dogs and remember getting several big boars there back then. We lived off the land and sea and stayed at te aroha Bay.. you young fellas do great videos and I always look forward to the next one.

Sounds like an interesting job. I work in East Bay and the place is crawling with pigs. We see them daily.

That was great... pigs seemed plentiful.... like fish in a barrel. That pig may have been sneaky, but you are clearly the sneakiest. And kind of nice when you don't have to carry it for ages.

Good to see you putting out the videos even though Arved has gone off on a different adventure. They're very entertaining and appreciated. The old hunting jandals got a fair workout in this video again! It seems you've got quite high numbers of pigs there - at what point do you have to start culling them including the piglets (they turn into big pigs fairly fast)?

Thanks Marc! They're a lot of fun to film and edit 😁. Can't beat a good pair of hunting jandals! Gave em a good run this week's tahr hunt too! Normally the pigs aren't too much of a problem, we probably take out 8-10 a year and that seems to keep the rooting damage on the paddocks down enough, lately the population seems to have been taking off though! Also the wee piglets are super succulent, every kill goes in the freezer 🤤, so I wouldn't call it culling (a lot more like shopping than hunting though 😂)

Those Barnes TTSX are good, I use the 130g in my .308. There’s tonnes of pigs around at the moment, good culling!

Nice! We have been trying the Barnes LRX 129gr, since the reloading shops were out of stock for the TTSX's, and they seem to pack a good punch too. Cheers mate!
