I just got this gun but with a black birdhead grip (version RGA44/BD/3"VB). It's very nice and thanks to you I know to get smaller caps to make it even better!. Here in Poland only weapons designed before 1885 and with non-cartridge ammunition are allowed without a license so many people have them instead of modern firearms. It's good enough to defend yourself yet much harder to do a mass sh00ting with :D Perfecly balanced...

Hi. Carrying with chamber loaded but not capped could lead to accidental discharged due to flash over from open nipple. It's best to leave unloaded with cap on it to be safer than a open nipple. I like Remingtons top strap.

This is why people don't like that sight. It is the same sight they put on the 8 Inch and it makes the point of aim a bit high down range being on a 3 inch . Yes gents 5 inches makes a diff. FYI a file can fix that.

Not sure if you’ve taken it to your gunsmith at this point but if not there’s another guy on YT named Blackie Thomas and he has a video about putting internal “grease grooves” into the 1858 to improve reliability during range trips among other content on the pistol. Definitely worth checking out

.45LC out of a 3 inch snub. Makes a big hole. I run 255 grain lead slugs. 800-900 fps at the muzzle.

You can also use the noches for the safety instead of having one less shot I've got the 8 inch and I'm getting the 3 inch so I can load 2 cylinder with the 8 inch and use the 3 inch to carry I've tested the noches unloaded and it seems to hold it well I to think the top strap made the remington the best option reload is so much faster

Yup.. What I wanna do is file down the notches just a little to 100% guarantee safety. They were smart in 1858 for that design.

@thedefensecoalition Oh yeah! Matter of fact, I'm waiting on an order from them now! I ordered the Gen 2 trigger guard and the ergonomic grips.... It's international shipping, so I've been waiting 8 days now for them to ship to Texas, but they give you step by step details on where it is on the "Shop App"... I also emailed them and asked if they'd be willing to make a Picatinny Rail Target Sight for my Remington Ace! Waiting to hear from customer service on that...

@thedefensecoalition The Ace is so much more concealing for everyday carry. I also ordered two fully fluted cylinders from Taylor's and Company. It's gonna make it sooo much lighter with all the upgrades! I was also thinking of getting a Kydex Holster made specifically for appendix carry. Maybe get it Cerakoted as well! I like the steel versions because it's more durable, but something about the way the brass frame looks makes it appealing. I was thinking Cerakote would make it pop! What do you think?

You can also cut the bottom out of your watch pocket out of your jeans, and it fits perfectly. I carried a full-sized 1858 that way

You CAN... You still run the risk of bumping that hammer and having the cylinder turn. the groove is too shallow and the correct way to carry a revolver is on an empty chamber.
