@@solidmoon8266 Fifty five years ago I came to the same conclusion during a debate about Quebec separation and Quebec has only reinforced that over the years after. Of course, I lost the debate because English Canadians were so afraid that Quebec would separate that they sacrificed themselves and generations after to keep Quebec in Canada. The stand should have been that they are welcome to remain in Canada as an equal partner but not as an entitled partner demanding preferential treatment. Notice that every policy out of Ottawa favours Quebec especially equalization that has Alberta paying billions to Quebec who has a provincial surplus while they are running provincial deficits along with at least half the electrical rates of the rest of Canada.

@@louisecote3542 I know that it is a cap and trade system where I am convinced that the James Bay project is giving Quebec massive credits. The problem is Quebec MPs should not be voting for a system that their constituents are not even a part of thus imposing a tax that doesn't affect them. Quebec also charges their residents about half the electrical rates compared to other provinces and then claims poverty demanding higher equalization payments from oil rich Alberta and Saskatchewan. Quebec has also banned oil exploration in the province so they import oil from half way around the world and get it paid for from Western Canada. Climate change and the carbon tax is a Liberal/globalist scam that claims an essential gas for all plant life is a pollutant that changes the weather. As a final note, I am remaining calm but feel that Quebec continues to hold the threat of separation over the rest of Canada and naive Canadians are giving them more in hopes that it will diminish that threat but Quebec politicians have made it public that Quebec needs to continue the threat to extract more. I feel that Quebec is more than welcome to remain in Canada as an equal partner but not as a partner who will never be satisfied as an equal partner. I have had wonderful interacts with French Canadians including family members but I refuse to sacrifice myself on the altar of acceptance.

@@jacobuszwanenburg1629 Quebec pays a higher carbon tax directly to the provincial government. Quebec residents also don't get the climate action incentive. So a 2 person household making $100k each gets to pay $9k more in taxes and doesn't get $730 in carbon tax payments.

They have their own provincial system like BC. It's handled by the provincial government. Under Katleen Wynn, Ontario had their own cap and trade system. Doug Ford scrapped it and as a result, the federal government imposed the carbon tax.
