TAfishing is probably the most informative fishing show on youtube
for people taking up fishing buy a £30 combo 9 foot pier rod with a large fixed spool use bought 3 hook flapper rigs with 3 oz grab weight and fish off a pier for whiting in the winter, use small inch big squares of mackerel enjoy .
Me and a mate were on Eastbourne Pier a couple of weeks ago, hired rods etc from the bloke in the shop at the end of the Pier. Top guy, helped us out a lot. Thanks for the memories.
used to fish eb pier, knew owner of pier so fished for free and looked after tackle shop for a while. Mullet used to catch alot using bread just directly down on flat calm day tide going up then down. Best time is morning. Bass used to catch by the bucket load 3lb+ . go to the bottom deck and to the end corner on the left facing down the pier. In around August/September/October bass are on feed to bulk so use a sidewinder (shimmer eels) about 6-10 in a pack and not that expensive. Single 2/0 hook onto a 1oz/2oz lead using half meter fluorocarbon line. Lead hooks onto main line. Cast 1/2 hours before full tide and then upto 3/4 down. The current will take your line into the pier. Cast as far as you can parallel to the pier slightly to the right. Let it drop to the bottom. Then reel in but be quick not to get snagged. Jig it if you can twice every 4 turns. Half way or on the way down youll hit. If you match high tide with early morning youll get 20+ bass in 2 hours mainly 3+ lb easy. Black bream is caught top deck to the right cast out 30/40 yards in june july using rag if you can or makie / squid strips on a small hook. Youll also catch flatties too. dsf
glad you like it, check the video description, we have put a link there to more beach and shore fishing vids
For any beginners in the South, the pier Graeme visits in the vid is quite possibly the best one to head for, so good to see a film on it. As anglers are so sectioned off from the public, learners can just concentrate on fishing. Worthing Pier is an option too as they have a lower deck for anglers, away from the public, as does Deal Pier in Kent.
Glad you enjoy them! We are making an effort to make more sea fishing ones this year. Check out our latest video - Beach fishing tips for beginners part 4. I use a 2/0 hook for flatfish.
i like this tony he seems like a top fella, knows absolutely loads and seems really happy to give advice to anyone who asks, nice man.ive seen him in a few of these vids now and he has tons of knowledge.

matt gosling = I live in Brighton, but my daughter lives in Eastbourne about a mile from his shop, so a visit to see her and the kids is usually combined with a visit to see what Tony has on offer! Nice man, loaded with all sorts of info, you can't go wrong! Unfortunately though, the new owner of the pier has declined to renew the tackle shop lease and the fishing was also stopped for good in March 2016 on the orders of the new owner of the pier, Mr Abid Gulzar!
Never used or even seen one, but would cast most sea weight for shore fishing I guess. Certainly worth a try. Would save buying new beach rod. I often use pike rods for lighter beach fishing.
The word 'finesse' was obviously Tony's word of the day... :)
Just discovered TAFishing and found the tips really useful. Greame makes a lot of sense but everytime Tony appears, Greame asks a good question and Tony just tries to sell him the newest gear in his shop and avoids the question lol
Upsetting to see how the pier has changed
Yet another superb video from TAF , I love this series, I've learnt so much !! Cant wait to get started.
Great Video! Another Beach fishing video would be very much appreciated for your Totally Awesome Fishermens Friends!
I agree with you 100% the first video I watched got me hooked and since then I've watched every video, my brain is just absorbing everything, I can't believe how much information Graeme gives out, it's TotallyAwesome.
Another awesome clip full of tips! Thanks!

Greetings from North Carolina. your videos are great!!!
I love your fish room. Great show. Fishing is the international language and you speak it well. After Hurricane Sandy the fishing has been hard hit here is New York but I have your videos to enjoy

another great informative fantastic fishing video. thanks taf
Agreed the best fishing shows on youtube.....
Good to hear Tony's thoughts on a multiplayer. My dads local tackle shop in Weymouth sold him whiplash to go onto his new Abu just glad he called me before loading it on.
Great video and very helpful
Nice one, good to see what's about in Eastbourne, will have to come up in the summer.
Awesome tips!
Thank you! You're awesome man!
Excellent video!
There are a number of knots you can use, a blood knot is a good one. Check out our How to tie fishing knots videos on our "How TO" playlist on our channel homepage
Graeme and Mike, you should tire shrimp as bait for your next pier fishing video.
These videos are really good im going pier fishing soon, great tips thanks alot keep it up:)
Continued Braid has so many benefits over mono, eg bite detection, low wind /water resistance/drag. no stretch so positive hook set etc etc.. Braid is in common use on multipliers now and is seen as the way to go by so many anglers these days! and the problems that used to be quoted no longer are!. (March2013) Tight Lines All...
If you do Eastbourne Pier you should Do Worthing Pier too
Nice!
This isnt a lesson for begginners, this is two fishing addicts having a technical conversation.
excellent thank you very much
Thank you Sooo much! I need this for america! thank you so much!
Thanks, have you seen our Part 2 pier fishing video? check it out on our pier fishing playlist!
go to amble pier in northumberland, it fishes briilient lots of plaice and flounder also u can get little cod and pollock.
Yes, but only with low wind and small(neap) tides as you may not be able to use a very big weight. Don't break your rod trying to cast too large a lead weight.
thanks its really helpfull you really long lesson
i've always wanted to own the Abu Garcia 7000iC3 CT MAG HS Baitcasting Reel but the thing was they never made a left handed version of it .... just bought the Akios 651CTM Left Hand Casting Reel which looks like the abu but with the knobby mag and i'm very happy with it ... got to fish with it today with the wind blowing towards me ... no problem ... it's spooled with a 50lb braid.
providing the pier allow fishing, yes you can, although be wary of people around you when casting
Would a spod rod 5 lb test curve be ok for pier and light beach fishing
Do you think you could make a video on how to cast with a multiplier. Franky
I just caught 2 macreal last night off a pier. There is not much macreal around so i was happy. If fishing in the night use a glow in the dark bead above your l
Ahh is good to see a right-hand wind reel for all of us right-handers.
not sure how TOTALLY AWESOME those small ass fish were.. mate
Could you use a decent spinning rod for pier fishing
@thediligentdungbeetle8116
3 жыл бұрын
Probably I mean for mackerel feathers definitely and maybe a float but not really a bottom sort of rig because you won't really know when you have a bite unless you know what your looking for when watching the line
personaly i have never bought expensive reels haha caught my 4lb mullet on a £15 reel.
Love your vids mane... I remember when I was hooked up to a nice donkey, lost it...lol
What was the chrome multiplier called?
smashing video graeme!! always enjoy your videos especially the sea fishing ones! quick question whats the standard hook you would use for flounders/dabs/plaice etc from the shore as i can never decide on the right size mate!!
How come you're never fishing the north east
Hi TAF, Love the videos, Could you maybe do some more beach fishing videos? Thanks
I got an idea for a video for you, which is where you take the different types of reels, and break them down, or explain their workings, and how to use them. Spinning, Spincasting, and Baitcasting, ect. Unless you allready did that.
What is he painting those rods with?
Glad I am not the only one lost on this video, your vids are great and have helped a lot but that guy in the shop might as well be speaking chinese, talking fishing jargon and offering 150 quid reels. I went to Angling direct to get a full wagler set up and it cost me less than 100 quid, Ive caught loads with it, no beginner will spend 150 quid on a reel... Unless they are stupid. I feel sorry for beginners who go to Tonys shop for advice if thats what he comes out with. Aside from this video, Keep up the good work
Fantastic and thank you 🍺 🍻
Just go and get your self a secondhand rod and reel some hooks leads and bait and bobs your uncle, can’t see what people are confused about even for a first timer. And ask other fisherman for tips . Your learn as you put the time in . It’s a sport that’s very addictive and helps keep kids get out doors and not on the computer 24/7 and good way to meet nice people
can you do a video fishing the london Thames Estuary
My advice to any beginner and I’m not saying this is true to Tony’s shop but there is a saying that is worth remembering when buying tackle, “There is Tackle designed to catch Fish and there is also tackle designed to catch fishermen”, Remember if you are new to fishing unless you know the shop keeper Well do your research before you buy anything as you could end up with a tackle box full of stuff that has caught you, To start off keep it simple no need at the beginner stage to rush out and spend hundreds and hundreds of pounds straight away that comes later with experience and knowledge .

@@ethanhorn6369 Thank you it's just a bit of advice I was given years ago when I started Fishing, I hope it will save a newcomer a bit of money and help not to put them off fishing because of it which is a shame.

Entirely agree. I started on budget gear and only when comfortable with that I upgraded. Ive now upgraded a 2nd time and my catch rate has increased due to extra distance, extra power and more time in water due to better gear. But if I had used my current setups when I first started I would of really strugled
How do you tie the hook to the main line? sorry im a beginner.
what are the rod models?
graeme. your videos really help me. even though im a half a world away here in the US. your techniques are proven to work across the world! keep up all of the tip videos and maybe if you have some time send me some tips on setting up my own fishing channel? that would be greatly appreciated! also what would be one of your favorite places to fish i may be heading to britain and want to do some totally awesome fishing myself!
I have just moved to lowestoft and their south pier is still open
My rod is a Abu Garcia carnival pro size 30. :)
would a normal river spinning rod and reel work
i use bg90 with 30pound mono sulfix and sulfrod
love the way every video starts. haha. epic, the way you pretend to be doing something, ie fixing something then all of a sudden look up as if "ohh were ready to film" lol get totally awesome fishing on the telly !!!
the chrome Multiplier is ( Akios ) great reel the owner was working for abu company for many years and now he has his own company
You can fish on the new pier in Hastings for £5 per rod for 24 hrs
What's a Multiplier? I thought those were called Reels?
I always use braid on my multis no worse than mono to be honest. I use abu rockets and basic 6500s .

Great show. However I was wondering if there were any vids for real newbies? Me and my mate have just started and we don't even know if we're setting up the line right, like where to put the hook, weight and float etc. Some knot/tying tutorials would be a godsend too haha

type in "how to tie fishing knots" on youtube and you will see our knot tying video there. In that video look for the blood knot, that's what we use for tying the line and weight to the hook.

Hi I have a Daiwa theory 12ft beachcaster, Would the Akios fixed spool in this video be suitable for my rod in terms of weight and balance? Thanks.
@TAFishing
10 жыл бұрын
Never used a Daiwa beachcaster, all mine are Conoflex, but I guess the Akios Scora should be OK for it.Everyone has different opinions on which rod and which reel.I think it would be OK.

TAFishing Thanks for the reply! I meant the 12foot length, Is the reel an ok weight for this length of rod?
Eastbourne in Sussex
For any more advanced fishermen go with a shimano stradic 5000 with a stout rod at least 12-25 pound
what about deep hooking the fish.
There’s a brillkant pier where I live in Whitehaven you should pop down one day

i recently bought a Advanta RTF Spin Combo 6ft (1.8m) 10-30g/30FD and was wondering what type of lures to use with this and would it be any good for my son to use (who is 15) when i go pier fishing just to cast out and try to catch some fish?

Maybe ask the local tackle shop in the pier area. Or rig him up with some small hooks and try bait fishing before going to lures.

TAFishing Oh there is? Seems more like: fishing for experts in this vid.
Tony said the shuttle is about £90 yet i cant find them for less than £170 :(
I went fishing today I would have gotten a fish if I didn't look at the seals but someone gave us a fish XD
I totally agree with Tonys view on striking at bites when ledgering. Lets face it chaps, you're not hooking these fish, they mostly hook themselves.
