Pier Fishing for Mackerel, Cole fish & Pollock | Sea Fishing UK

Ойын-сауық

Pier Fishing for Mackerel, Cole Fish and Pollock using a spinning rod and a 28g metal razor claw lure.
In this video I head to South Shields pier to try and catch my first Mackerel of the year. They have been a bit late in showing up this year but finally they are starting to turn up in numbers from the pier along with the Cole fish, Sand eel's and pollock.

Nice one Gary! Those Coalies are good sport - don't hear of many being caught here in the far South West. Not had so much time for KZread lately and missed a few of yours, so working my way back through them. Impressed with those Razorclaw lures so have ordered a few, and have been dithering over a new spinning rod, so the Abu tormentor is now on my shopping list. I daren't ask what reel you're using else I may end up bankrupt! 😁😁 Thanks for the videos mate - stay safe & well. 👍👍

  • @fishingintheukgarywood

Yes, they look quite similar, but they have a couple of differences. The lateral lines are different. The coleys have a straight line and pollock has a curved one, and a pollack usually has a prominent protruding lower jaw.

I've explained the count down method in my latest video the pollack catch and cook one have a watch of that if you get time hopefully that will demonstrate what I mean because you can use the same method to fish with spinners on the pier aswell.
