Part 1: • Fixing Up A Non-Runnin...
I bought this 1971 CB350 with a handful of parts missing from the bike. In part 1, I got it running and driving, but it still carried the look of being a part made "cafe-racer"- style motorcycle. I wanted it to look close to its factory appearance, so I went to find some parts. It's not perfectly stock, but I think it looks quite a bit better now.
Chapters:
00:00 - Going to find some parts at the local junkyard
07:42 - Cleaning up the fenders
09:05 - Cleaning up some other things, removing the battery box for painting

Very talented editing !

Great restoration and troubleshooting 😊

@@randomguy1807 By the smart conduction of the visual narrative; the conscious choice to not talk and just show the best scenes; the intelligent use of the camera and lenses; the zoom-ins at the best moments; the well-balanced capture of sounds and a bunch of other details. In general, the vídeos from this guy easily stand out from the sameness of other channels.
That bike yard / breakers is a place of beauty. Thanks for another great bikeumentory.
Another fantastic video. That junkjard footage was great! Hope we'll see that Harley on your channel sooner rather than later. You need one in your life!
I really enjoy the way you make videos. It give me nice ideas for my footages and the envy to improve the general aspect of my work. Few can really appreciate the efforts you deploy to film in tight spaces or with poor lighting conditions. I do.

Thanks for putting up the new video. I have watched all of your videos, so I was getting itchy for a new one. Great stuff.
That pause at 20:15 is my kind of thing. CB s are loveable machines in what ever the condition they are❤. Excellent video 👍
Great transformation! Nice kittie
I really appreciate your "belt and suspenders" approach to fixing the wiring. Yes, you can get it to work (temporarily) by twisting the wires together or just using a crimp connector, but it never lasts. 34:32 Good to see that you're wearing your safety slides. PPE is so important!🤣 The fact that you could do this much work with basic tools, common sense, patience and (I'm assuming) a shop manual shows why "Right to Repair" wasn't even a thing 50 years ago. I appreciate your craftsmanship, both in the repair/refurbishment and the quality of the video and editing.

Nice work, keep going! Work, no talk!
A man of few words. Actually none😂Action speaks louder than words
The "animation" style starting at 7:26 made me chuckle... parts "appearing" with sound. You definitely have a flair for video editing that rivals your obvious skill as a mechanic.
You brought back a classic, a basically stock bike with tasteful mods. Great!
Keep doing what you doing !

Отличное видео, коллекция восстановленной техники пополняется!
I had a 'stable' of 2/350 K4's, I could assemble around 6 or 7 complete bikes at any one time. Would tune em till they would hole pistons and spit out rings on a regular basis so most spent most of their lives somewhere on the repair and rebuild assembly line. I had a pile of over 100 friction plates all marked for their nominal thickness to 'dial a clutch'. Cam sprocket bolts will bite you in the ass, re-use at your peril! Nothing quite like a spun cam on an overlap engine doing 9 grand!
Snag a gallon of Evap-o-rust. You just degrease and drop your small parts in, move onto something else, then come back in a few hours. I am in no way associated with the product, but it's life changing!
My fav bike.
There’s something to be said about leaving a bike stock, look at all the work needed to bring the bike back from the horrible modifications.

It is a good idea to use a cloth type of tape. I had a caravan and all the plastic tape adhesive turned into a sticky mess. I took all the plastic tape off and replaced it with cloth based tape which also binds well in a run of several wires. I had to take that off a couple of places as I was doing some upgrades and it had bound well to the back of the tape wound around the wires. Will never come apart. Good using solder and heatshrink. Cheers from Australia

I was cringing when I saw you throwing the fasteners on the ground in the salvage yard. Believe it or not the factory original hardware is some of the hardest things to find when you restore old Japanese motorcycles like I do. Modern metric nuts and bolts just aren't the same as the old J.I.S. fasteners. Save them or put them back on the parts you took them off. Even if they're rusty you can bring them back with evaporust.
@SimonFordman
29 күн бұрын
I did save all the fasteners.
Hey Simon hows it going, just wants to say huge fan of your channel and keep on doing what you are doing!, but on the other hand i notice you deal with some rust here and there just thought i would mention that "pickling Vinegar" which has 7% acid in it works great for removing rust if you fill a pale up with it and its pretty cheap as well i think its 4 or 5 bucks Canadian a jug, but ya alot cheaper for removing rust from anything bolts small panels or whatever just let it soak in a pale for few hours and brush the rust off in most cases, just thought i would forward that info

Thank you very much for the tip. I’ve tried apple cider vinegar before with good results. Honestly though, most of the time i don’t have the patience to let stuff soak, especially when trying to meet video deadlines.

Wow big difference between the Honda and the Yamaha 350's. I wonder if the Honda is just geared lower? Anyway I have always really liked the CB350. They came out before I could ride. My first Honda was a 1971 CB750.

Hey, I am Justin from India. I own a 1971 CB350 B3 Japan ( Private Import ), I am trying to restore the bike but nothing is available locally importing parts is costing me too much! am amused to see so many scrap bikes. Is there any means to get some parts from there? if the part itself is available for cheap then I can manage the shipping may be with the help of some friends of mine .
