As a teacher I have to say you are amazing. You break all the important elements of soloing over the song. You now have a new fan.

Very well done. Your level of comfort in front of the camera make it seem like a real time, one on one. One of the best I’ve seen!

ok. holy shit. i'm only at the second part of this lesson but i really can't get over how amazing that lesson was about the F#m pentatonic solo to the A shape CHORD--- THAT'S SO COOL BRO AHHHHH i literally nutted when you explained that i wish every youtube guitar lesson was like this----- when people explain things i literally have an extra thing in my tool belt, rather than JUST the song. it's lessons like these that are as fun as playing the actual song thank you thank you thank you you are magnificent

Sorry, Blue. I know it's important, but i keep forgetting to hit the "LIKE!" icon, cuz i get so wrapped up in the content! I'll try to do better.... This is good stuff. Of all the songs I've wanted to learn, I'd forgotten about this one, but i love the guitar part in this. Very well done! I like your appeoach, teaching the theory of the song. Like you said, it helps us to apply it to our own music. It really does! 👍 👌

They say when the student is ready, the master appears! I've been a middling player for over 30 years. Never could figure out how leads and chords go together (always messing around stuck in the pentatonic). Now I see this scale progression and chord agreement in other songs like Wild World and Brown Eyed Girl - it's a game changer. Thank you soooo much!

Now this is remarkable teaching. I'm self taught on the guitar and have made the odd foray into YT channels that teach "theory" and, man, I'm clicking away within a minute. This? Golden! Not just the pellucid explanations about how the solo fits over the implied chords-thereby actually making the damned solo memorizable-but the tone of your delivery. You avoid condescension, but also don't assume we know more than we know. Stellar. Thank you.

Blue, great choice for a Lead lesson. I saw Big Brother w/Janis play this LIVE way back in the day. Sam Andrew was always a way incredible guitarist of the Psychedelic era. the band Big Brother was great, LIVE, even before Janis was brought in to sing.

@@QBRX It's a cool solo for sure. I looked at the first solo on the track. Very melodic. I can't find an accurate tab for it though. But I'll see if I can do it eventually. I might not have time for a bit to make the tab though.

Thanks! Looks like I'm using my Boss Katana. I usually use a patch that I created, and just run an overdrive pedal into it. Usually the Keeley Super Phat or the Fulltone OCD. If you have a Katana amp, you can download my patches from here: www.bluemorris.com/katana

Why e harmonized scale over end of intro
@GuitarLessonsVancouver
Жыл бұрын
Hi Rodney, the song is in E major and the chords in the song are all from that key. So we can use all the notes from the E major scale -- and harmonize them.
