Norman's Shovelhead is identifiable in the movie by the sound. It hit the screen and I said to my GF - "that's not a panhead, that sounds like a shovel..." Audio was too good lol.

Good Movie... captured the essence of the time and local. Everything just clicked on this one. Even Benny's girls watch fit!

I got bored and didnt think to much of the movie, more hype than actually great film.

There is nothing such as a suicide shift! Only a suicide clutch!

There was never a "suicide shifter". It was a tank shift. Sometimes guys would have a "suicide clutch" where you would have to hold it with your foot and if your foot slipped off then it would take off and possibly shoot you into traffic.

I've actually heard it referred as both. Just depends on who's telling a story. Also called a "Jockey" shift. And I'm well into my 50's. Been riding since the 80's.

True suicide is Jockey top transmission cover, ass scatcher shifter, spring pedal clutch and no front brake. I rode a 47 ULH in the early 80's. I have a stock 49 Pan and that tank shift isn't suicide. Got my first Triumph in 1975.

As someone who’s been in the vintage Harley scene most of my life now my hopes and dreams of getting a knuckle or a pan just got a little dimmer. Wouldn’t be a bit surprised if we hit another chopper craze in society.

Old Harleys are already to expensive. Now they are going to even worst after dentists and lawyers see this movie. Knucklehead is the best motor ever.

the book had all kinds of bikes... some brit bikes... maybe even a bmw? but a lot of them were choppers, not just harley dressers. the movie is supposed to be in the 60s. all those bikes would have been pretty expensive for a bunch of poor boys. and those bikes were pretty stock.

Harley sales probably went up after this movie

At least here they do show motorcycles because in the movie NONE

No self-respecting rider would ride without goggles/shades. One bug to the eyeball is all it takes. They should know better.

I rode a dirt bike on the street most of the time back in the 80s with no helmet no glasses. Don't know how I didn't get my eyes FD up.

Yeah you will, great fuckin movie.

It looks like a good movie but it's a really stupid name for a movie. I ride a motorcycle, a bike has two pedals. A motorcycle does not. Why not the bikers.

If you read the book, it explains it. They weren't called Bikers then. Bikers were called Bike riders....
