This video will show you how to measure the frequency of a signal using the Picoscope 7 automotive software.
Here, we have a pulse width modulated signal going to a simple lamp.
What we want to measure is the frequency of this signal to do this we go to the measurements icon.
We click the measurements icon, which will open the measurements toolbox.
And from the inside the measurements toolbox, we make sure we select the right channel.
Our measurement is in the time and we can see it there.
The first one frequency, we select frequency and it'll display the frequency on the screen to remove the toolbox, simply click outside the toolbox, and then you'll have the waveform and the measurement below.
If you wanna change the size of the measurement box and increase the size of the waveform, click the small, medium, or large tab within the measurement box.
It'll change the size of your measurement box, depending on how you want to view the waveform and the measurement.
As we can see, as we change our duty cycle, the frequency remains the same. This is a fixed frequency signal.
