As a professional truck driver with decades of experience, I see this exact thing happen all the time. It's a "macho" thing. Some people don't like others in pulling in front of them, even if you have plenty of room and use your turn signal.

Unfortunately, when teaching my son how to drive, I told him to never use his blinker until he’s at least halfway into the lane he wants to move into. Because, for some reason, drivers like to speed up when they see you trying to change lanes.

I generally don’t even put the mirrors in the “moose antlers” position on my Ram even when towing my 24’ car trailer. The “moose antlers” look dumb that way, and I see traffic just fine on both sides of my rig with the mirrors in their standard position. Add a big flag or two flying in the bed, a lift, and tires that stick 6” or more out of the wheel openings to the moose ears mirror thing, and you know the owner is overcompensating for a serious shortcoming!

Been in Texas 12 years now and almost every incident with super aggressive drivers or ones that completely ignore the rules of the road, have been dudes in white pick up trucks!! I guess a complete coincidence! Had a similar pick up driver doing 70 in the fast lane (for passing only lane). I patiently waited and blew by him as road was open. I looked in rear view and he came up on my ass honking and flashing his lights. we did this cat and mouse for several miles. He came up next to me on both sides. having my daughter in the car I was going to pull off highway. As I was moving over he bolted by and took the exit before me. Too many folks got guns in their vehicles here so no reason to mess around...

From what I've noticed. Majority of the used fleet vehicles are white which makes it easier for Joe blow to purchase an affordable pickup, which also makes for cheaper insurance. I had an insurance guy flat out say if you want cheap insurance buy a Ford. I guess they don't cost as much to repair either. So if you suddenly start noticing all the white ford's driving around. You'll know why. It was way easier on their pocketbook to afford a used truck that better suits the ego.

I had a kid in a primer black diesel try to keep me from passing outside Welch TX on a two lane. He found out that his truck chipped at 110 or 115, I don't know for sure, my caddy can do 160+🤷‍♂️

I'm fairly certain that what Cletus did is a crime. It was intentional. The lane merge might be unsafe but not aggressively so. (Similar to not signalling in time before a turn) Cletus should be in jail and his license revoked for awhile.

I have no sympathy for this guy but I think that's a bit of a stretch. I don't think it was intentional, I think he wanted to overtake and cut the cammer off, but the only way to do that was through the shoulder, problem is he run out of road but still tried to squeeze through. Probably also expecting the cammer to slow down to avoid contact.

In the States it's to eze to get a driver's license , and all cars should have dash cam

More like it's too easy to _keep_ one. This isn't a case about knowing how to drive. I'm sure this guy could pass any driving test you threw at him to get a license. But I bet if the state suspended his license for a year for pulling this stunt, he'd think twice again once he got it back about acting the fool on the road.

I've always wanted to own a truck. Now that I have one (just a used tacoma, nothing fancy), I want to keep it for as long as it'll hold. I want to protect it, and I want other people to not wanna mess it up. That's MY stuff. It's for ME, not for my ego.

a very similar thing happened to me on a rainy night - I put on my right turn blinker and proceeded to turn into the the left most lane to access the on ramp to the interstate. guy in a pickup who was far enough back when I turned, decided he didn't like it so he sped up onto my bumper put his high beams on and then accelerated around my right side clipping my front fender when he cut back in front of me. i flashed my lights at him, blew my horn, and pulled over. he actually pulled over too. i called the cops, got out and confronted him. he seemed sorry and produced his info, as did i. then the county sheriff showed up, took both our statements, and instructed to wait for another deputy to arrive and finish the paperwork. it all seemed ok to me, until several days later when i got the accident report from the sheriff to send to my insurance company. turns out the 2nd deputy (who had a private conversation with the other guy) wrote up the report naming me as "driver one" which meant i was at fault. i tried to fight this with the sheriff's office, but would have to hire an attorney to maybe be successful. moral of story, florida cops apparently can be judge and jury as to who was at fault at accident sites...!

Often, cops will give benefit to people just because they're local, even if they're assholes.

Guys in big trucks always think the road is some kind of African Savana and they are a lion chasing gazel. I'm not sure how they got confused. They love to chase motorcycles.

I assume an empty diesel with no scratches has a sprit phallus half a mile long out the front of the truck looking for contact.

It’s called a VIOFO T130. Make sure you use a class 10 SD card for reliability. I have had good luck with any VIOFO branded camera.

Yep, I tried to convince the responding officer to write him a ticket, I even offered to show him the video on my phone. He declined, and said just let insurance figure it out. I guess it was too much paperwork for him to bother with. Very unfortunate.

I do believe large vehicles have a strong correlation with bad drivers. They are often purchased by ignorant people who believe they will be safer in a larger vehicle, because they know they are bad at driving. Although this guy is just your run of the mill loser with nothing better to do than pick a fight.

The insurance company should have refused to pay out... on the grounds that this was deliberate and not an accident... and then the truck driver could have been sued and forced to pay out of his own pocket!!!

FILE A POLICE REPORT. This is criminal reckless driving.

And one good thing comes out of it. You get his Insurance to pay the Damages. And he gets notified by his insurance afterwards, that they Canceled his Policy.
