Awesome glad to hear that!

It's always funny how pickleball players say the rules are easy. I see experienced pickleball players still get confused with the rules. The more videos I watch the more I get confused.

Recently, I was asked why, at the start of the game, the serving team only gets one serve? Nobody has given me a definitive answer. Standard answer given is usually "thats how the game is played". Thanks.

singles scoring needs more explanation. its simple but examples help for people that have never played racket sports

There is a far easier way to do this. Make the first score the team that scores first. For example, 4-2, The serving team which is leading misses. Score is 4-2 second server, second server misses, the ball goes the other team. The score is 4-2 first server, that team wins the point now the score is 4-3 first server, that team loses the point, now it's 4-3 second server. You could probably leave out the first or second server designations. Teams kind of know that. So now it looks more like tennis scores without the love.

So…is it true that if I begin the game on the right side of the court the score for our team should always be even when I am on the right side? Which of course means when I am on the left side, our score is always odd? When confusion over the current score comes up this could help. Your thoughts please.

Yes that is correct! This is a helpful tool that we use on the courts to make sense of scores.

Sorry I still have trouble understanding. I got lost after a couple of seconds into your explanation. Help! Do you know of an accredited school that I could apply to learn pickle ball scoring. Can you recommend any study guides for the entrance exam...? 🙂 😡😫

What score do you need to reach to win. Do you need to win by more than, say 2?

On singles, if you score do you serve again or is it the opponents turn?

In singles you continue to serve and switch sides as you score, just like in doubles. But if you lose the point serving in singles, it goes to your opponent. You don't get two serves.

@@sharont1209 Yeah, we always give up keeping track and just make up numbers. It’s fun, but the scoring and serving is ridiculous.

Singles scoring is easy. If you have an even score you serve to the deuce side. If your score is odd you serve to the add side...doubles is harder...too many moving parts..

My mind can't absorb this because it doesn't make any good sense. It's intentionally complicated. There is no "why" explanation.
