The big black thing with white eyes is the bracken you look t it for 2 seconds and look away, and it will run off. Also, always sell on day 0 never go to the moons you will always get fired.

Scanning monsters lets you read their bestiary entries on the terminal. It's absolutely necessary to understand what the deal with them is, like how Eyeless Dogs hear your voice and other sounds so running around yelling about a giant monster is quite literally what's getting you killed with them.
