    Exactly the video tutorial I've been looking for! I'm knitting Cool Cropped Top with an open back where the patters says to break yarns and hold stitches, CO new sts left and right, and I want to simplify the process by omitting all those steps. One crucial thing for me is to have a good fit in the back and I've seen examples with other knitters having a problem getting the lower and upper back pieces looking good w/o puckering and slacking once worn.

    Thank you for another great video. I’m a beginner, only knitting for the last 15 years or so, and still learning learning learning- especially from you. If the instructions are to “pick up and knit” would you have knit each loop as you picked it up? and why would that differ in engineering from simply picking up and then knitting?

  • @SuzanneBryan

    Great video! Just to ease my poor addled brain, would you mind confirming that the new knitting (white) created with the purl bumps, will be at the top of the pocket and that both front and rear (green and white in the video) will be knit down to the bottom of the pocket?

  • @SuzanneBryan

    @SuzanneBryan

    5 жыл бұрын

    This is for a top down garment. So the white will be extending down. The green is coming from the top. I am holding it as if it were knit, not in the orientation that it will hang when finished. Great question. Thank you! Happy Knitting!

    I am also having a hard time understanding how a pocket will come from this. They’re attached, so where’s the opening? I think seeing a finished sweater or pocket area and having the parts identified would help. Not owed a darn thing, of course. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone. 😄

    Hi from the U.K. thank you so much for this video I’m a beginner and I’m not sure if I understand what you said about if you don’t have a cable in the pocket. Does that mean I pick up every stitch including the two with the knit stitches on the back of the green swatch that you skipped only I thought you said it may show on the front if I pick those two up. I’m easily confused so forgive me for asking you. Many thanks in advance

  • @SuzanneBryan

    If you don't have a cable, there will only be purl bumps on the WS, so just pick up in each one. Great questions. Thank you! Happy Knitting!
