    I believe Andrew Ditton has camera mounts in his vehicle so he can film hands free while driving. Ask him about camera mounts and how to get them instead if holding a camera while driving -- it's dangerous and you could get a moving violation. Very nice Carravan and car!

    Hi! I hopped over from David’s video with you in Cruising the Cut and watched the videos from The Dates of the UK through this one. I like your videos! I am not from NZ or the UK but I believe it freezes in the UK. When pipes freeze with water in them, they will break and burst when the water is on, causing the water in the pipes to flood the house/RV/building and cause tremendous damage. If the pipes are unprotected with insulation or heating, you can avoid this by emptying the pipes and leaving the tap open. I don’t know if there are off season freezes there, but they do happen in the mountains in the US where I am. You might be the first to take the RV out this season or they may do this whenever it is not in use. Bit it would be terrible to take one (RV) out for the first time and water comes out of the lower kitchen cupboard when the water is piped in and turned on. It would be very inconvenient and would leave a bad first impression. So leaving the pipes open is a preventative measure. Just FYI as I didn’t see anyone explain why the pipes might be open.

  • @TravellingK

    @TravellingK

    5 жыл бұрын

    Wow! Burst pipes would be embarrassing! That’ll be why the taps were open then 🤣

    Those caravans are really light weight made but awefully expensive! Not for long term use, I think... They look nice and clean anyhow... We have a cam attached to headrest with a (shoulder?) strap so there's no need to hold it in hand and it's rather easy to change views, too.

  • @TravellingK

    Saw you on Cruising the cut, fascinated with the differences in campers (caravans ) in the US and UK. Some features in the campers aren’t in ours here. I really like the locking push buttons on the cabinets. Would love to have a UK camper trailer, they seem to be better quality. One difference I noticed right off was the color schemes there are bland, white, grey, metal. Over here there is “ wood “ paneling, plaid and flowery upholstery, curtains and shades, wallpaper in some, lots of color. The windows over there are much nicer, and the bath also. I’m a new subscriber here, and really like your videos......enjoy Good luck from Cape Cod, Ma.

    I'm also fascinated about the US vs UK vs NZ RVing too! We have a few Rockwell caravans making it to NZ and I've noticed that they have a lot of darker heavy wood.

  • @philgray1023
    @philgray10235 жыл бұрын

    Nice video. It's Interesting to see how they build the vans and I noticed some approaches to quality which I didn't expect. You must have nerves of steel driving a caravan around in the UK. I was mostly terrified driving a GM Commodore which seemed to be much bigger than many cars there, and the streets are less broad and more narrow once off the motorways. As for the advanced features of the car. I spent 15 minutes trying to get an Audi to move, eventually it engaged idiot mode and let the parking brake off itself!

    Paw X Paw Hello, I never watched much of the SOPRANOS,,as it clashed with another show, what I was saying about being ‘lucky’ with the manuals, is now many you have to push in the clutch, or it WILL NOT START, just as automatic cars will not start without pushing in the brake. , Personally I much prefer a manual, but so many cars no longer use them,., yes NJ, is NEW JERSEY, USA

    @@flybyairplane3528 I never had to push clutch in with manual vehicles to get them to start but I did push clutch in anyway when starting vehicle as a habit in case I had left it in gear and it jumped forward? Had that happen on a Harley once at traffic lights and the neutral light bulb wouldn't illuminate. I looked like a total learner and couldn't stop laughing at myself. I think manual geared vehicles are also know as stick shift in America. My girlfriend is American and we spend a lot of our time trying to work out what each other is saying despite the fact we both speak English. All good fun.

    You’ll be ok, I have 1 calor standard and 1 calor lite and haven’t had any problems so far replacing them. Calor a while ago decided to stop producing them because they weren’t happy with the quality of design however from what I understand they still produce them! However I can’t confirm that but put that aside I still don’t think you’ll have any problems.

    @@RevMarket Back in the day (About 20 years ago ) when I towed a caravan in the UK. It was said to keep things safe. The maximum weight of the caravan should not exceed 80% of the tow cars kerbside weight. This was not a law by the way.

    I do know most UK caravans are designed to be driven by a normal car. There's a weight limit written on the caravan and you just need to check that the car can handle it.
