Picking up a Land Rover Series 1-1950 80inch

Half the time you find them and the other half they find you!
I took the Perentie out to pull the series 1 out of the garage where it has been sitting for about 30 years.
It was windy and dusty combined with have a cold which made for bad filming but when it is a Saturday you make the most of it.
This will be about my 20th Land Rover and my 7th series 1 which I only own 3(including this one) as a few of them had to go to make funds for others.
I have been told this was used on the Snowy Mountain Scheme. I have not found any proof of this as yet. I do know that there were LRs owned by the scheme and also quite a few used by contractors.

Crikey! That’s going to keep you out of trouble for a while. Nice find, I’m a reckoning a little stint with the pressure hose will make it look like new. I’m guessing there’s a reason it wasn’t used for so long and suspect a bad engine or gearbox. Have fun with it.

Thanks. It sure will keep me busy. The reason it got parked up was that the owner moved into town due to health reasons and when he died it stayed there until the property got sold. The person who bought the property wasn't interested in it and the house was falling apart. In saying that I haven't got the engine to start yet. Hoping now that the warmer weather is here I might get a chance to get it going.
