Never get tired of your honesty and natural style. Please don't change!! My partner Adam and I laughed at your closing confession about not using the satnav, despite Monika's suggestion you put the Quad Lock on the handlebar. This is me and Adam all over!! He insists he knows where he's going, and do I know how many years he's been making this journey................ say no more 😂 We love you both. Have a great Sunday, Catherine & Adam

In the old days, when you drove your own vehicle to the racecourse, and then drove home again, the headlights were covered with two strips of adhesive tape (as a cross) so that in the event of an accident, the shards of the headlight did not fall on the racetrack. The cross on the headlight is probably intended to remind us of these times.

They use to add tape X on the headlights as if you were racing and they ever broke it wouldnt stop the race/cause shards on the tracks if i recall. Havent added it to my bike as i dont track it and feel its a bit gimmicky these days.

Another uncomfortable seat on a bike. But fear not, for hundreds of pounds you can buy a seat with pennies worth of better foam and get what should have been there in the first place!! No one ever complained of a seat being too soft and comfortable lol.. Great video Freddie ❤

Sometimes not just the seat but the riding triangle itself, might need a taller seat option not just more padded, and people make mistake that soft is comfortable and hard isn’t, when over distance it’s more about base support 💡

I bought the Scrambler Desert Sled a few months ago and found the seat unbearable after an hour or so in the saddle. I tried the Ducati comfort seat ($300 on Amazon) but didn't like it either, so I dropped off the bike at a custom upholstery shop and had them add a softer layer of foam on top of the original foam and then made a new cover from gripper seat material. Now I can ride all day in comfort.

What a beautiful bike and a great video as usual! A Ducati Scrambler was definitely on my list a couple of years ago, ended up with a Kawasaki Z650RS in the end. Interested to see your thoughts on the bike, seems so far you may rate it as somewhat uncomfortable, my Kawasaki is the most comfortable bike and seat I have ever rode. I saw you have trouble getting in touch with Moto Guzzi, but you probably didn’t realise you seemed to drive past them! They are part of the Piaggio group and were next door to the place with all the Ferraris!!

Scrambler bikes may not be for everyone, certainly not me, but i cannot deny that they sure do have great handle. they carry this reassuring sense if sturdiness, stability and safety. despite being smaller and lighter. Although id argue the classic 350 can give you all that, AND an actually comfy seat hahaha so i bet youre missing that bike from the past few videos

I own a harley and a royal enfield and a yamaha xsr but the two ducatis are the ones i always want to ride. never mind scrambler, the ducati scrambler is still a desmo racing engine and moto gp capable. You could do 200 kmh round the circuit no prob and have fun. In Thailand the scrams have pirelli fat knobblies on them though. So much fun and it makes my xsr yamaha feel like a kiddie toy

You nailed it. As a long distance machine, forget it. But around the hills of the Algarve, where we live, it's a work of art. I don't own one, but I tested one, and it is a perfect ten for me. My friend, who accompanied me, owns thirty bikes and runs an owners club back in the UK for a specific Yamaha model - he knows bikes inside out - and he said, quote, "beautiful machine, full of character, it might be my next bike". Enough said...P.S. I just can't part with my Fantic Caballero, it's far too much fun, so I guess I'll just admire from afar.

@@FreddieDobbs yeah fair enough. Seems to be the case with Guzzi. I went for an hour ride on the roamer and loved it. Also I think it's especially important to get some decent time on moto guzzi bikes. Glad you avoided a shunt on the new Scrambler! The exact same scenario happened to me recently whilst riding the 'Ride of the Roses' from York to Lancaster. Car 1 emergency braked to a stop for no reason on the A59. Car 2 behind was radar equipped so stopped in time. Car 3 piled his brakes on, he thought he'd hit car 2 but on checking could swipe a credit card between their bumpers. I'd just ovetaken a car, pulled in to see the 3 cars all screeched to a halt in front of me 😱. I emergency braked but realised i was out of room to stop sufficiently so steered to the nearside gutter but clipped the corner of car 3 which along with the crap in the gutter, i lost the front end & came off. It was actually at slow speed as id taken most of the speed off. Guy in front (northerner) was a top bloke only bothered if i was ok. Car 1 drove off!! Pride was hurt more than anything not to mention I'll have a hike in my bike insurance as technically it was my fault. But glad u avoided anything like that especally on picking up the new bike & 1st ride back! As ever, love your vids Freddie, keep them coming but remember, take a rest when you need to 👍 Daz.

Anyhoo, I have a very similar issue with the white one, jump on it and i feels extremely comfortable, but after an hour my hip is killing me to the point I don't ride it and I'm going to sell it. But that's a 40 year old bike , the Duke is brand new so if it's ergonomics or vibrational they really should have that nailed down under NVH testing.. Apart from that it looks like one of those bikes that does most things very well but when you get off you don't look back.. Glad the weather is holding up. You will probably have seen Freddie, next to Ducati Spider Motorcycles, the best Rental company in the Uk with all the latest bikes - anyone coming to the UK wanting a rental bike these are the go to guys 👍 also opposite I’ve picked up bikes from MotoGuzzi and Aprilia. 3 hrs from me each way so its too far really to pick up press bikes. Wish more companies would do drop off and collect like Triumph, RE & Harley

What wireless mic were you using while you were doing the segment next to the motorway? The noise isolation is quite good, I could barely hear the traffic going past and your voice came out loud and clear.

A nice looking bike, but I find the scrambler type bikes rather uncomfortable, I was given a triumph scrambler whilst my tiger 900 was serviced, two things I hated was the bench seat and no screen.

I saw these at their launch in Sheffield, very nice but I thought it was a bike they produced to keep up with other manufacturers who were putting out small bikes. I did find it a small bike too and probably has it's uses for short trips and green laning, like you I couldn't envisage myself going very far on it, but then I don't think that's what they produced it for. Great build quality and a fun bike. Looking forward to see what Monika things if you go two up.

With that extremely short front 'Mudguard' plus the forward cylinder potentially in the path of mud, stones, dead furry animals l don't think this bike is meant for off road....Probably better of with a Monster...The monster looks better as well...

Nice looking bike, especially now they’ve rerouted the awful cable that used to go across the speedo. Interesting about the seat though.I wonder if other owners have the same issue with longer rides?

I think you’re too tall for Ducati‘s 800 Scrambler. The 1100 would fit you better and therefore be more comfortable on the long run.

I sincerely hope that Ducati will exchange the 800 for an 1100. The 800 is good for people round 175cm (roughly 5’10”?) whereas the 1100 takes over from there onwards. Unlike a car where it’s possible to adjust to your height, a motorcycle has to fit from the start. There’s only a handful of motorcycles out there that posess adjustable seat heights, and that includes bikes no longer in production (Honda Cbf600)

I have the scrambler icon Freddie and love it, ideal for a blast around twisty country roads but your right after a couple of hours you do need to get off. It’s well put together sounds glorious with a termignoni slip on silencer.

Funny ... i saw 'Ducati' and thought to myself 'what an expensive ball ache' ... and sure enough before you've even touched the bike you have to endure the logistical ball ache involved in collecting it, and have your pockets emptied in the process. To add the cherry on top, you got literal ball ache and had to pull over on the side of the road to recover. lol. Not too far off the ownership experience then !

Does the flashing clock on the Fiat 500 not bother you constantly? I'd be setting that straight away. If it keeps losing the time it could be your battery is too weak.

I LOVE the sound and looks of Ducati cycles, but I struggle immensely with the cost of Desmo valve adjustments every 3000 miles. For a bike of this displacement... my understanding is that it's ~$1500 USD every 3k miles. That will add up significantly over time.
