this video shows why it is important to find a quality breeder who knows what they are doing. It also shows the importance of the breeder picking the pup. They know the parents/grandparents. They can see the tendencies that are there. And give a very good prediction of what the puppy will turn out to be.

Totally disagree, I’m paying and I’m picking. Breeders like to pick so no pup is left. Also I only take pick of the litter. I’ll wait until I’m first, always. I pick at 7 weeks, not before

Fascinating that the first puppy could be calmly held. My Mal/GSD was too wild at that age.... He's still a pistol. Trainable but stubborn, full of drive and loves activity. Finally affectionate, bonding and sitting still with me at 10 months.

The first dog in shows the other dogs it's safe. Then you get a different response from second or third or fourth dog upon entering. This is highly unscientific. It's not useless, but it's really not that helpful. Once the first dog returns happy.and healthy the others know they are getting an adventure and not a threat

@ Shield K9 Dog Training - would love to see a video of you talking in depth about dominant dogs. Not just what "truly dominant dog" is but dogs who who show dominant behaviour that may only be an 8 out of 10 on the dominant spectrum. I saw your video about handler aggression and you talked about redirection and social/dominant aggression. I really wish you could expand on the social aggressive/ dominant dog some more. To me dominance is on a spectrum of say 1 to 10 and 10 or 10+ being a truly dominant dog which we know is rare. I would like to hear more about these dogs that are on 7 to 9 scale of dominance and the type of behaviours you tend to see. Would really love to hear you ramble on about this subject in greater depth. Thanks for all the knowledge you share Haz and I wish you continued success.

Our Catahoula Leopard dog and Rottweiler cross bitch is incredible. If we weren't retired with lots of space Lula would be very unhappy. She needs an hour of vigorous exercise twice a day. Needs her half hour of training a day or more. She will do whatever we're smart enough to tell her, ha ha. Her sibling brother takes after the Rotty side with typical traits. Both dogs are very prey motivated so easy to train. Don't get big, active dog if you don't have space and time. Our dogs want and love to work. One day the wife jokingly said to Lula " can you get a bunny?" I said to be careful because Lula wants to please and she listens! Sure enough two hours later Lula comes back with...bunny, dead. Dogs are amazing.

A Malinois is a great breed. Definitely the breed bonds with their primary handler. Our girl views me as her primary handler. She loves to please me, If she does something wrong, I just put my hands on my hips and stare at her. She knows I not happy. Our girl will be 8 in October, and has not slowed down. Patience, and knowing this is a lifestyle is a key for a well trained Malinois. ❤️

@@user-ty5di3ku6o when our girl was a puppy, her breeder told me to keep a rolled up newspaper close by. If I pulled out a stick, our girl would think it’s play time. Fortunately, I am with her around the clock. She is a great dog, and as a curious puppy, if she started to do something like chew on an item in the house, I redirected her attention. She has full access to our house, and has never touched an antique. My opinion, the breed thinks they are “the alpha”, and it is all about training and bonding with your dog. I dread the day that she is not with us. I would definitely buy another dog if this breed. Keeps me active, and brings so much joy and love to my husband and me.

@@michellewilliams8188 a newspaper? A Malinois breeder? That's not a real Malinois breeder. That's an American hipster who got into show line Malinois. A real Malinois breeder with working line dogs would NEVER say that. And a real working line Malinois would've destroyed your house if you let them have free range as a puppy.

Nine were running around playing, I introduced myself to them individually..... This one male would sit by my feet as I "interviewing" the others...... Moose the Maligator is now 9 months old ♥️ WTF did I DO with my time b4 him?? He does "give" me a half hour a day for a shower.... By myself! 🤣

I always love your videos. There is a stud dog named Buddy at Blackjack Malinois in the states. His head has an uncanny resemblance to a working line German Shepherd and he's a direct son of Halden but back in his mother line there is Dick the first or Arat as he was called. Listed as a Belgian Malinois but he is very clearly a working line German shepherd. Dick the first was noted for his bulldozer type bite unwillingness to let go but not the best jumper. Typical of a shepherd. In my opinion especially for personal protection dogs, mixing the agility of the Malinois with the size and stability of the German Shepherd is the Supreme dog. For anyone to go on the Blackjack Malinois stud list and look at buddy and you will see exactly what I mean. His face is like a working line German Shepherd but his body is like a malinois. This is created by really good breeding practices because you can't just mix any shepherd with a Malinois and get a great dog. You have to mix the best of the best. It kills me how when I bring up to many Malinois lovers and I myself have owned and loved malinois, get so offended when I mention that most working Malinois are not papered and do have Dutch and working Shepherd in them. They always want to say no it's a Malinois it's a malinois. And I always say no it's a Malinois with a secret sauce. I don't know why they cannot admit that yes most of the working dogs are a blend of the three shepherd breeds and sometimes even other breeds. The Fawn color is dominant so when you breed a Belgian Malinois to a shepherd then you will get a fawn colored dog that looks like a Malinois and slightly larger build. If you bred a sable Malinois to a sable German Shepherd then you would get a sable malinois. Because they are so closely related, often when you breed the two of them they can look like purebred dogs either Shepherd or malinois. It's just funny to me how people refuse to concede that this happens often especially with police and military dogs

Comment:The reaction of a Young animal that have never been out of his domain and when they are exposed to a new environment or unfamiliar places this young animals will go to an area, mostly a corner or an area with a cover considered by them to be a safe place. This a normal reaction (Self-preservation) but when you bring a young animal with her mother or an older animal companion with them to a new unfamiliar places this behavioral manifestation is not usually observable, sometime its minimal to none at all. This is practically true in most wild and domestic animals.Depending on various factors, like animal species, breed, social adaptability, ETc., the young animal behavior may dramatically changed and expressed themselves in a normal behavior. It normally takes 2 weeks for a young animal to fully adopt to a new environment.

Some advice, please. Are Malinois generally cat killers, or are they friendly with cats? Is that a breed characteristic, or is it an individual thing? it's a purebred dog if the parents are purebred and don't just look like it. if you cross a wolf with a dachshund but it looks like a dachshund it's not a dachshund. they are simply mongrel dogs. i still can't understand why people claim to own a malinois or any dog with a similar coat colour that it's definitely a malinois. big BS. in the US I guess anything is possible as long as it looks a bit like what you want it to look like. every local breeding organisation in europe (where this breed originated, by the way) prohibits such things. from dishwasher to millionaire is probably the same as from poodle to german shepherd dog. you can be anything you want ;-)

People all over the internet just don’t know what they’re talking about. People have 3 of these but they’re already active kind of people , so the dogs get the energy out and are trained to know when to calm themselves and accept no for an answer. The people you are referring to still eat fast food and binge watch 6 hours of Netflix

@SyvilMedia 𓂀 agree with YOU. Getting rest while having this breed and being WORTHY of HAVING & KNOWING exactly what YOU stated in terms of training THIS BREED or ANY other for that matter, is what is MOST Important & necessary to KNOW! Ase'

As soon as you mix a GSD it is no longer s Malinois. The full and correct nam is Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Any mix of any other breed, genetically is not accepted. I'm not saying the puppies are a bad mix, but they're not Malinois. Sorry for being a purest.
