Then sadly Renee had "work" done and became unrecognizable. Same thing happened with Jennifer Grey. In both cases, the women were stunning natural beauties, not glammed-up Hollywood fakes. But for whatever reasons, they failed to realize that.

I LOVE Ray. Love him so much. The other characters are great, but my favorite scenes are Ray and his friendship with Jerry. I wish they had made a sequel called Ray and Jerry's Day at the Zoo or something. I can't get enough of their adorableness.

Renee Zelleweger was perfectly cast here. Cute but not drop dead gorgeous until she wanted to be. Beautiful enough inside and out that you can be convinced a guy like Jerry could settle down with her.
Unless you are a Mom with a little Man you do not even begin to comprehend how AWESOME that part was. 😢

And a bit scary. I'm not sure I'd even want to MEET my date's young kids until we at least knew we might get serious about the relationship. Others may disagree, but I'm just concerned about doing what's right by the kids. Relationships are tricky enough to understand for adults.

In this movie, in this scene, Renee is perfection.
The little boy just signed off on his mom relationship.

This scene illustrates the difference a father makes, and the why children need a TWO-parent family.
This movie has made me melt ever since the very first time I saw it.
I was 11, maybe 12, when I saw this and it is one of my first memories of a movie scene (that isn’t Mufasa dying) that moved me and made me feel grown up emotions.

They were meant to be a family omygosh!! too sweet~I saw it a few days ago and I loved how everything wasn't rushed and I loved that Jerry and Ray bonded and had this wonderful bond. The love the characters had in this movie was so touching, I loved it.

I think it has that effect. You don't really appreciate it until the 2nd or third time you've seen it. It can at first seem like a very simple and unexciting storyline, but it is filled with great acting, interesting behavioral nuances and complexties in the forming of romantic relationships. Also, carries the aura of the 90's so well. You could just feel the beauty of the 90's from the way the film was shot.

Tom Cruise was no slouch in this movie. You could really see him change. He goes through the wringer both professionally and in his own life, but comes out a better person in the end.
