Cheers PW! :D :D ... yea otherwise they'd have to cut your lock off with bolt-cutters. The TSA007 locks aren't secure though - I haven't tried the others (TSA001 to 006) yet.

I tried it and It actually Worked! Wow I’m shocked. I watched a few videos before I got to this one and this is the only video that works. I forgot my pin and really didn’t want to have to buy another padlock, so I’m glad that now I don’t have too. Thanks for the video.

So..... I was following the video... And then you got "lucky"... Which at this time I couldn't tell which was harder to turn... So I gave up and turned off the video. And then the lock opened because it was just stopped on the right combination. So your video luck applied to me as well!

LOL better to be lucky than skillful 😄Yea I could have done a pre-canned video and pretended I didn't know the combination code, but I prefer to do things honestly where I really don't know what the combination is. My method should work though (as I tested it several times before making the video, with a different random combination code each time), although I do get your point, me getting lucky wouldn't help most people. But besides all that, well done for getting it open! 😄😄

That was quite good figuring that one out my friend.

Indirect method, cool, I'll have to try and remember that technique. Those TSA wafer locks are pretty horrible though, probably easier to just not lock your bags up :P

Yes - they have keys TSA001, TSA002 ... to TSA007 to match the locks (my lock in the video said TSA007 and so the TSA agent / airport security would use the TSA007 key). Also the blueprints have been reversed-engineered and put on github: github.com/Xyl2k/TSA-Travel-Sentry-master-keys

I can pick this TSA007 very easily but once it's open, how can I re-do the combination if I don't know the current combination? Pressing in on the button and creating a new combo doesn't work for me, don't I need to still know the combo if I'm to keep using the lock?

If you open it by decoding the combination, then you know the combination, but if you open it by picking the key lock part then you wont know the combination and wont be able to use it (unless you decode it).

Would it work in reverse to close it? So push the lock down whilst turning?

Yep you should apply tension to it by pulling the lock (as if you're trying to open it) as that will put pressure on the inner wheels (and we can then get feedback). I've never actually tried pushing it instead (and it may work on some locks!)

Ahhh ok ... the picking method is only to get into the lock (in case you need to get into your bag etc), but you wont be able to get or reset the combination that way. If you want to know your combination, you can try: Method 1: Try the first way again ... attach the shackle to something so you can pull on it more, giving it more tension, like I did in the video ... pull as if you're trying to open it, then it should make the next wheel bind more if the current wheel is on the correct number Method 2: You can go through all the combinations, trying each one ... it should take long (maybe 30 minutes) as there are only 3 wheels: 0-0-0 0-0-1 0-0-2 etc etc ... all the way to: 9-9-9 ... but make sure you pull on the shackle for each combination attempt (but not when turning the wheels for this method). Make sure the numbers are aligned properly as the lock may not open if one of the wheels is slightly out of alignment (so make sure they are on a whole number and not half way between).

Depends on the lock - what does your one have instead of the u shaped bar? That's called the shackle by the way. I did a couple of videos on "cable" ones (flexible cable instead of a bar shackle) in my videos 153 & 154.

@@kazoorolled Agreed - people think these locks are safe but they are not, and they can be opened and then locked up again without the owner knowing, and no proof to insurance companies that they should pay out for anything stolen.

Mine is stuck opened. The u shape part doesn’t turn all around. Only a forth of the way…. Anyone knows how to unlock?

If the shackle (the u-shape part) is open but doesn't turn all the way around, it might not be pulled out enough - try and pull it open more? And if it's stuck open (locked open) then you could have a look at kzread.info/dash/bejne/nKyaw7SYdcjHpNI.html

Do you mean you know the code but you want to recode it to another number? You should be able to turn the shackle either 90 degrees (quarter of a turn) or 180 degrees (half a turn) - I can't remember which one for this lock - and press and hold down while dialing in the new combination. Then put the shackle back closed. I would recommend first changing just one wheel & one number to make sure you're doing it correctly (so you don't lock yourself out).

I forgot the code to mine and it is stuck in the open position

Hopefully you can use the same method described in the video except you tension the shackle by pushing down on the shackle instead of pulling it (push down as if you're trying to close it). Good luck!

You should be able to tension it but pushing the shackle as if trying to close it, and the same method in the video work ... but tensioning it can be difficult, and the whole thing if very fiddly. Good luck!

Is it the same model of lock? If so then you'll need to make sure you have plenty of tension (pulling the shackle as if trying to open). If it's a different sort of lock, you could try the "peeking" method as in my video 173: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fpqgqK2glJnXerw.html Also I've got a lot of different videos on tsa locks showing different methods (depending on the tsa lock), eg kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKB_tJSPdsnedcY.html and kzread.info/dash/bejne/eaWOzrGidryrhco.html ... if still no luck then you can try each combination (since it's only a 3-wheel combination it should take too long, maybe 30 mins) by starting at 0-0-0 and test the shackle, then 0-0-1, then 0-0-2, 0-0-3, etc right up to 9-9-9 and you should be able to find you combination before that. If you have a 4 wheel combination lock then it'll take a lot longer. Good luck!
