THANK YOU! Same here! I've been learning this the hard way in the last years. You can be compassionate, but you have to be compassionate about yourself too and that includes boundaries. I am reading the Gifts of imperfection from Brené Brown and she describes this perfectly well. If we want to make compassionate work we have to learn to put boundaries first and respect ourself. This is something most people are not aware of.

Thank you. Pile 3, and that was so spot on. I was 30 when I started to heal from childhood neglect and domestic abuse in my first marriage. Two years into the healing I discovered my spirituality and went through my dark night of the soul. Throughout the years I've found my spiritual gifts and my place in the universe. I was drawn to #3. I recently had a Reiki session for my depression (lost my brother 2yrs ago). Since my session things have been happening that I cant explain but nothing I would complain about!! All my life I've noticed ppl come to me A LOT for advice or to vent. I've also had several ppl open up to me about personal issues after only knowing me a day or two. My healer (person who did my reiki) told me I'm a healer and I need to connect with it. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. I told him that I love helping ppl and for about the last 3 to 4 years now I've been feeling like my purpose in life is to bring joy/happiness into ppls lives in anyway I can. Also, since I was a little girl, I've always had the need to take time for myself and separate from ppl. Ex. During family gatherings (Christmas, Thanksgiving, bday parties) when everyone's all together I would be there in the mix but suddenly need to go to my room, or find a place to be alone and just breathe! Even now as an adult, I'll just go to my car, step outside, hell, even go to the bathroom and just have a moment to myself. I can't be around a lot of people for too long. I always said "I need to recharge my energy " P.S. I've been intrigued more and more by reiki and chakras

simple smile wow I thought I was alone in this. I would tell my mom that when I would take the bus while in college I would have strangers telling me their life stories and I had just met them. I give people great advice and I feel like they feel comfortable talking to me. Even my mom asks if she can bounce an idea off me. #2, so accurate... I work as a psychiatric nurse. I am their light.... I am very compassionate when it comes to caring for my patients. I like my alone time to recharge my energy. In my personal life, I can not be around people with low energy vibration. 💓 I can not believe what I heard when you said "working with felons and in a jail, or people who are on drugs" that is EXACTLY what I do... I work with patients who are in treatment programs, and mandated through the courts after being transitioned from prison along with homeless people, men and women with children... my clinic is located in a jail that has been renovated into a clinic. Unbelievable!😁 you are awesome!!!!!
