Piattini Trio Perform Noah Max's 'Sojourn' (The Clements Prize 2021, Conway Hall Sunday Concerts)

Музыка

As part of Conway Hall's Clements Prize for Composers, Piattini Trio perform:
Noah Max | Sojourn
Sojourn is dedicated to the memory of Melanie Daiken (1945-2016), a dear family friend and composition student of Messiaen, who inspired my creative endeavours from an early age. I hope this work encapsulates Mel's beautifully erratic personality, both a sense of being at peace with herself creatively and her noisy, forthright passion which students and friends of hers may distinctly recognise in places. The piece is in six short movements; my favourite moment is in the penultimate movement where grief and happy memories collide.

Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.
Conway Hall hosts a wide variety of talks, concerts, exhibitions, courses, performances, community and social events. It is also renowned as a hub for free speech and independent thought, hosting suffragettes, political radicals, scientists, philosophers, artists, performers; campaign, charities and other non-profit organisations.
