@@TF2StarlightDTS practiced in a hole in the ground hiding from bombs and his instrument was piano so much out of tune that all sounds sounded almost the same , pedal didn’t work. Only this fact could impair hearing and quality of sound for anyone less than DTS.Later he met in Vietnam Russian prof. Katz whom I knew personally, who was a good musician and beneficiary of great Russian school of sound, but he didn’t have students of this magnitude as DTS , none of them became famous. And trust me , they practiced a lot. Later DTS went to Moscow to prof. Natanson who didnt have very high reputation and it’s hard to think that he made great contribution to DTS . His sound is a product of his ears, soul and extremely sensitive hands with a resonated singing touch which is inborn quality and it’s not possible to achieve it only by practicing.
