Enjoy the concert n meet n greet!!!! SO fun!! Eating out is fine!! You aren't going to high end restaurants! Sweet to give your mom cash to enjoy her time away!! 🥰

Good job Carol Ann enjoy your concert. You are young. And you need to enjoy some. Things outside of saving and make memories. You will always have the memories of meeting your fave band and the show. So take time to enjoy little things in life. You are doing great.

You melted my heart a bit when you said you gave your mom money to enjoy on her vacation :). I think you're doing a great job. Life is all about balance, so enjoy a few treats like your concert but try to not over indulge. You see how hard your mom is working to set aside money for retirement and a home. The years slip by and next thing you know you're racing against time. Although your student loan debt is large, your income allows you to wipe it out in 60mths or less. Then your real wealth building can begin. Best of luck on the upcoming month!

I love seeing you paying off debt. The purpose of the budget is to learn about your spending. You can see what your spending habits are and adjust it if you feel your spending is too high or low. I went to urgent care this week and thought of you when I was treated by a PA. Proud of your accomplishments

Great job Carol Ann and so sweet what you did for your Mom. I hope she is having a great vacation! My guilty pleasure is vegging out to KZread after a long day for at least 2 hrs before I go outside to feed animals and other chores before calling it a day. Then back to KZread 😂😂

Carol Ann, the expense tracker is formatted to track all your in's and outs, not just your paycheck. You'll want to add the $$ from your mother in the, "actual" income column, your total (planned plus actual) car payment in the actual debt column, and the lovely $500 to your mom under actual variable expenses. Once you've done this, you'll have a true picture of your cash flow and leftovers.

I totally agree on the topic of doing a few fun things on your debt free journey! As I have gone through my journey, I have continued to keep saving for travel on my sinking fund list. I feel like having something to look forward to keeps me motivated in all areas.

I’m older than you. I’m older than your mom. I still have money put back for concerts! I put my birthday and Christmas gift money in an envelope, and it’s mostly used for overnight trips- like your mom, my best friend lives in another state so we meet in the middle for short visits. The money I save from groceries or anything I may have over budgeted (my car taxes were lower than I budgeted for, my life insurance was rounded up for budgeting and I have a couple of dollars left over, etc.) in a separate envelope and I pay for concert tickets and live-streaming events from that. If I thought I had to spend the years until I die with no “fun” or music, life would not really be worth living. I will say that I am extremely jealous that you could get VIP tickets-my favorite band has a special VIP with photos, Q&A, and a short private concert (for the group with tickets), but it is over $400!
