Physarum polycephalum 1

Ғылым және технология

Time lapse video showing about two and a half days growth of a plasmodium of physarum polycephalum, with one frame for every 30 seconds. Temperature, humidity and lighting were not controlled (except for pulling the curtains). Sometimes condensation forms on the inside of the petri dish lid. About 75% through there is a gap of about 40 minutes.

What's crazy is the original line that was keeping 1 and 3 together became redundant after 3 matched with 4, and you see it start to die off pretty quickly.

Maybe it's just all the acid I've done...but I think that all of humanity would benefit from watching this entire video. I sat and watched this in total awe inspired silence; while the slime mold crawled and crept, I understood the rise and fall of cultural trends, the whole of civilization's triumphs and follies. I saw the veins and arteries of our bodies and of our souls form and die with "the times". And for a flashing moment, it all made sense. This video needs music...

It appears Physarum polycephalum calculates a sphere surface of 1d loops enclosing 2d sphere surface, each moving opposite every one it touches at those points meaning something is held equal between them and to keep that equality the borders between the loops change shape. The outer such loop would be turning opposite all the others, which when viewing a planar graph as a sphere surface it rotates to reverse direction so actually they all turn the same (a debt of what caused this unbalance, answer is the food source and electricity in the slime). In physics there is a tool that opens like pliars and closes a loop around any coil to measure, I think its magnetic flux, and when I first heard that it made no sense why it gives the same reading regardless of where the tool is held as long as it closes the loop. It appears to be that gravity, which is pushing near perpendicular to the slime as its on a mostly flat surface, is any existence of a sphere where things all turn the same direction and cover its surface (planar graph), at least in this simple case without going to more dimensions, and there is something related to torque between when the slime is changing back and forth only between small ends which form a mostly smooth surface and do not approach the stronger loops, where this outer opposite flowing loop (which is not really the right thing to call it but close) can be something about the time or frequency when the slime nearly doesnt change and flashes between small loops appearing and being sucked back in, and something more about space when its expanding about the same speed. It should be that this planar graph (modified somehow with torque etc how the loops relate to eachother) of where the slime grows and closes 2d areas, could be viewed as any of those loops being the outer loop unseen as its border. Earth's gravity, which does affect the slime and everyday events, may work to rotate it as if it were one of the loops the slime grew. It is of course an object within these physics and a simple life form, so some math should be common between its behaviors and how a fluid finds its lowest level.

God has indicated such miracles of His creation in Chapter 2 of Verse 26.... "Indeed, Lord (Allah) is not ashamed to set forth an example (like) even (of) a mosquito and (even) something smaller than it. Then as for those who believed, [thus] they will know that it (is) the truth from their Lord. And as for those who disbelieved [thus] they will say what (did) intend Allah by this example? He lets go astray by it many and He guides by it many. And not He lets go astray by it except the defiantly disobedient."..... Such miracles are easy for God
