I really love that you get your children to problem solve different things. It's a skill so many children aren't given the opportunity to do much anymore.

You just gave me a wonderful idea for list making. I always try to assign specific tasks or projects for each specific day. But just having a list of items and getting to choose which item you do each day might be more fruitful. What happens is, if I don't get every specific tasks done listed for that day, I feel like I have failed, even if I have gotten many other things done that weren't on the list. I will try your method next week.

Would love to see more GAPs meal options.

Wow Turn 16. My driver's license was a savior to me. I could take my blind mother to go see her dad. Who is also blind. He got put in the nursing home. When he broke his hip. Had to go 35 miles to go see him. Graduation David. You can be a big help. I learned so much today from your video. Never too old to learn. I'm 72.

There really is nothing else that gives you the same feeling as making something you know is nourishing and healthy and seeing your children devour it and thrive. I totally know how you feel. As for young Elizabeth turning 10, I remember feeling like that when my son reached 10 and then Valentine’s Day just gone he turned 20 and is now a fully grown adult who absolutely loves me all the same but hates when I still call him my little beansprout, it’s habit what can I say!!!

Very interesting - thank you! I do make baklava and use the store bought. We are blessed with honey as we host bees for a local bee-keeper and our gift at the end of the season beyond have wonderful honey bees in the garden, is a bounty of honey, so, use the honey when making the baklava. It is so quick and easy and I have taught mini classes for friends to take out the fear of the working with baklava - I celebrate your son's work to make from scratch. Also, I often make meals with rice and I can not eat rice - it gives me a very similar affect as food poisoning - and by making meals with rice - I too enjoy doing so for my family. So, I understand your desire to make food for your family even though you do not eat it. Thank you again.

I ENJOY WATCHING THE CHILDREN GROWING AND LEARNING. WE GREW UP IN THE COUNTRY WITH ANIMALS AND A GARDEN. WE LEARNED A LOT OF LIFE LEASONS FROM WORKING WITH THE ANIMALS. OUR FATHER TAUGHT US TO MAKE SURE WE FEED THE ANIMALS BEFORE WE ATE. THE OTHER CHORES COULD BE DONE AT A SLOWER PACE IF NEEDED. MOTHER TAUGHT ME TO MAKE MY BED FIRST BECAUSE COOKING, DISHES AND HOUSE HOLD CHORES WOULD CONTINUE ALL DAY.

Fabulous video. David is amazing making his own Filo pastry. Good birthday dessert choice and so wonderful big brother steps up to make it. Safe driving to Gabriel. We have had grandchildren with us all day. They and their parents come back here after church most Sundays and usually the girls help me make breakfast. Pancakes is a an oft requested favourite. Gluten free and dairy free and the girls love tossing them. Such a blessing that they all live so close to us. I just love how all the older children adore the baby, such a close family.

I don’t know if you remember but I sent the kids Turkish delights about a year back, I actually really wanted to send baklava but couldn’t be 100% certain that the vegan baklava I found was in fact vegan, so I stuck with the delights. Anyways, it’s awesome you guys made baklava and you made it with pistachios! In most regions in Turkey we eat baklavas with pistachios❤

We are hoping construction will be done by the end of April and then we can create a temporary patio for the summer kitchen. We won't begin work on the addition for another year or so.
