Queen and Gary Anthony Williams kind of resemble each other.
I remember how magnificent she was in the inkwell , then how radiant she was as an attorney in new jack city and how sublime she looked as the Jamaican mother in how Stella got her groove back. She is just a gift a superb talent and gorgeous woman.

She basically said that the studios knew what kind of person that he was and didn't do anything about as long as it didn't hurt their pockets. I remember when Khalil Muhammed was on the Phil Donahue show and this beautiful sister was in the crowd and made a comment about our plight in this country. I've always rooted for her.

Sister Phyllis is a real one. Her 2000's BET Comicview standup was great. Dr. Boyce Watkins mentions that book she referred to on numerous occasions. The Chicago comic she's referring to is Corey Holcomb.
One of my favorite actresses. Always represented the chocolate at the highest levels.

So good to see her again. She is a talented artist. She played Tina Turner's sister in what love got to do with it and even though she was not seen throughout the movie she contributed to the movie success. She starred in other classic movies from the 90s.
I love Phyllis, and I agree I think Tiffany played her cards wrong. She had such a sad beginning story, everyone felt sorry about that and wanted her to WIN, and big, she played herself to be a slap stick minstrel show.

Phyllis has ALWAYS been an outlier. She used her comedic performances to expose deep ceded dispositions toward dark skinned natural beauty and other issues. I remember she did a stand up gig yeeears ago where she showed a picture of her natural self emerging from water or in nature and the crowd erupted in laughter. It wasnt funny in the least bit but she low key read them in the classiest of ways but they were too asleep to even realize why the picture was probably even displayed. Even being a product of a combination of Cali culture, I understood the message or lesson from that moment/ performance.

She’s too militant. They do not gravitate to those with militancy mind-set. They just started embracing darker skin tone actors and those at some point strayed and went off track with their styles and messages if they had one to begin with. Look at Lupita. Of all the dresses she could have worn the other day, she wore a bust of her upper body. Really? Look like a joke. We for odd reasons cannot stick to class once we get to the top. Something similar has been said also about how Fox used all of our favorite shows to we loved , Martin, Living Single and others to make money and other networks like WB. We fell in love with great black sitcoms and then they up and disappeared.
