Good advice!!! I was debating Chiang Mai or Phuket. After watching your video, I will take a side trip to Chiang Mai while I visit Bangkok.

Thank you for comparing these two! I was looking for this info :) One thing though, people shouldn't ride elephants, instead they can visit sanctuaries and experience and suppport the shelters! :)

I did ride the elephants. Its fun but I hated the way the elephants were often treated horribly. I did not want to give them my money. Shelters are usually better

Great video I've been using the Grab Taxi app to avoid being scammed or overcharged. It's really a great app everyone should use. I agree with you about Chiang Mai , in Pattaya I was constantly Hounded and it got pretty annoying

Yes Grab can save you from scammers. Grab rates are usually slightly higher than metered taxi rates since they come out for you. Yes I like Chiang Mai better. Thats also cool you went to Pattaya. Personally though I think its best to avoid Pattaya. I think Pattaya is dangerous.

Interesting. I'm headed to Phuket, Hua Hin & Jomtien to look f/ apts. in February. I work fr. a laptop and have never visited S.E. Asia. Have a small pension

All of those places are beautiful. I personally like Chiang Mai better. Phuket is beautiful beyond all reason but super touristy. Not the most authentic taste of Thailand. Pattaya is a little dangerous. Never been to Hua Hin but it looks beautiful. Probably very safe

@@burnheartsworld2548 This is what I've heard. Thanks for the comparison. Maybe I can visit it during a second trip. Gotta get the March one under my belt first. Ideally I could see all four under that 45 day visa. Not ruling that out
