I've seen all of the episodes & the movie "Crypt of Tears". They are all fabulous & watching this little video just makes me crave for so much more. Jack & Phryne are so great together- such amazing chemistry. Whoever decided to cancel this show has rocks for brains!! They need to bring it back. There is so much more story to tell. I truly love this show!!!

The show was cancelled because Essie Davis (Phryne) relocated to London. It was becoming increasingly harder and more expensive for her to fly to Australia/New Zealand for filming. Instead of replacing her, they decided to cancel the series instead.

This is one of my favorite shows. Miss it.

Most people don’t even know about this fantastic TV show. Nathan Page and Essie Davis Are absolutely remarkable together. They look like they are totally in love, and what’s so great about this is that their flirtation just goes on and on without jumping too quickly into the next stage of the relationship! I wish I could get all the shows, but the only ones you can get without paying for are on PBS or ovation which are free. I guess they play what they choose or what they are given. One of these days will pay for Acorn, The channel this show is on, along with Midsummer Murders, Doc Martin and father Brown. This is one show that should be repeated and stay on the air forever. Absolutely Extraordinary!

Sitting here, bawling like a baby, getting chills over my entire body and just craving just a smidge of what Phryne and Jack have. Thank you for this spectacular video.

Thank you Anna B for this AMAZING video!! Your putting together of the various scenes is marvellous! I have never seen a couple on screen or off screen where their looks say ten times more than any words can. Their chemistry is off the charts! And I love love love how Jack is so 'man' that we still feel he is a man in the face of this larger than life female character. He holds his own and doesn't walk in her shadow. Omg it is totally tragic that there is only 3 series and 1 movie for us. Watching these two is a toe curling experience in the best possible way!

I think it would have been better if they had just made a 2 hour TV movie and reunited the whole cast. At the end of the TV series Jack pretty much declared his feelings and Phryne told Jack to “come after me, Jack Robinson”. So why couldn’t they have started from there? If they wanted other locales they could have had Jack going after Phryne or having her return home after like 3-6 months hurt that Jack didn’t bother to come after her-although she wouldn’t have let him know it. It would have been better if Dot, Hugh, Cec, and Bert-even Mr Butler-had been in the movie. They just needed to step it up more than a normal TV episode would have been. I wasn’t really excited with the movie but was OK with the ending. I also was very disappointed with Phryne’s wardrobe except for the gold dress with the gold and black cape she wore close to the beginning of the show. Most of the other stuff was terrible. She didn’t even have any good hats. The best thing was the hair piece she wore at the party.

I know what you mean but I really liked the movie, I was disappointed about how little Hugh, dot, ces and Burt were in it to though. I was also sad that mr Butler and DR mac weren’t in it.

Karen Downing so true had me really sad that Dr Mac wasn’t even at Phryne’s ‘funeral’ but a couple people who hadn’t even been in the tv series’. should’ve come back with a fourth season before they even thought about a movie tbf.

Aww thank you for your kind words! Glad you liked the video 😊 the show is on Netflix or AcornTV in a lot of countries and otherwise you can buy the three seasons in most DVD shops and on Amazon.. I'm not sure about the movie.. it was in cinemas in Australia in March 2020 so I it should be available to purchase online soon if it isn't already 🙈 hope that helps ☺️
