Thank you for your charming comment Sunny! You will find most of my older videos cover CS6 and there isn't a lot in CC that isn't also in CS6 - I don't generally cover the latest and greatest stuff - I prefer to cover stuff that most people have installed. Does this help?

It isn’t a year old! It’s still in diapers crawling around! I’m glad it helped! Seriously though, I’ll let you in on a secret: Photoshop hasn’t really changed much over the years - some of my 8 year old videos are still going strong with techniques that work with current Photoshop versions.

How do you make it straight lines on the bottom rather than a curve on the bottom of the letter and by straight lines I mean pointing to the center.. just going upward? I've been searching everywhere but I can not find a tutorial on it...

Hi, Found your video just in time. But I am trying to keep the top of the word straight and convert the text at the bottom in a sharper angle, more like one would draw the roof of a house instead of the rounded shape. Is that possible in Photoshop? Thanks

Kas, I think this is going to be pretty difficult to do but I'd be trying the mesh approach if it were me. You just need to get sharp corners which will be tricky. Actually, I just tried it and it's a disaster. I'm not sure this will be doable in Photoshop, sorry to be the bearer of bad news here. (UPDATE 3), ok, I was so curious about this, here's what I found for you. Two options pretty much based on changing the text to a shape: advicy.co/questions/73012/how-to-do-this-triangular-arc-warp-text-in-photoshop and planetphotoshop.com/perspective-text.html I think you should be able to do it this way. Better to do it in illustrator. you can draw any shape and use it as an 'envelope filter' and your text will warp into it. Then export to photoshop. 🤔

Hello Helen, thank you so much for this tutorial. So ironically, I was actually asked by my nephew’s baseball team to design a shirt to look similar to this, however, we were wanting to curve the top and bottom because we’re placing the kid’s last name in the middle of the red baseball seams. How would one do this same tutorial, but instead of a straight top line, it would be curved at the top and bottom? Thanks again!

Just do things exactly as I show you in this video. At around 4:50 when you make the shape into a Smart Object you will see that I then use it to flatten the top. You will use it to make the top the shape you want it to be. So you should be good to go.

Make sure you have the text layer selected before you try and select the Warp option.

If you actually watch the video, at 1:06 I show you that this is the font Sablon which you can download, as I said in the video, from 1001fonts.com.

What font is that?

Great question! It is called Sablon Up and here's a link to download it: www.dafont.com/sablon-up.font just be aware that it is free for personal use only so, if you plan to use it commercially you will need to buy a licence to use it. I chose it because it really is a great font for this effect.
